Thompson

Gets credit and rightfully so for clearly being 100% committed but yeah, it's become a pattern and it's costing us. We can both support the guy and hope he gets it sorted while saying a team like us just cannot afford these errors, it could be the difference in a league where nobody is looking like relegation certs.

That show of petulance was probably borne out of the fact that the mistake he made for their first goal played on his mind throughout the game and he will know he’s making too many of these costly mistakes, consequently his confidence will be taking a battering. He needs a rest and the timing is now right with his suspension and Hubby on his way back, and if Garbbs gets a chance on Wednesday l wouldn’t be surprised if he has a great game as Appy seems to have this group now fired up!

Dom puts his neck on the line every time he steps out on the pitch! If we had 11 of him with that attitude I'd be delighted (tbf I don't think we're far off). Yes he makes mistakes but he's young and still learning ffs!

Anyway I am a bit pissed but I've seen one of the best away matches of my 40 years supporting the mighty today so will go to bed happy! If we'd hung on I'd be up all night but the ref wasn't having any of a Blackpool win, for sure!

To be honest, it takes the piss that half of you are saying 'bring hubby back' cos half of you ** slate Husband to fuck every time we concede a goal and were probably saying 'Husband isn't up to it' and 'he's not championship quality' and all of the other shit and glory be, it's turned out that maybe Husband is actually a decent player after all! Who knew?

Thommo makes mistakes and has had some poor games but questioning his effort/attititude is weird. He's trying too hard, not trying not enough. He does need a bit of time out but I thought Appleton's comments were excellent. Husband learned from stupid sendings off. Thommo will learn too. Or he won't, but either way players need to make mistakes like anyone, in any job or walk of life, in order to learn to not make them again.

People calling out Appleton for not bringing him off? For who? We have no other left back. Thorniley would have been eaten alive by their pace and Williams and Marvin makes me feel physically ill as a partnership.

A good defender won’t go to ground anywhere near as much as Marv does. If you’re having to go to ground it’s due to you either messing up, being out of position or not being confident in your 1v1 defending stood up.
It's why he's not gone to the prem - he relies so much on that recovery tackle. He's very good at that recovery tackle but it is, none the less, a recovery tackle.
