Im not sure. He looked good when he first came. Remember Appleton bigging him up, but he’s another who seemed to go backwards under his stewardship.
I wouldn’t want to knock any of our players after what’s gone on this season. Very few of them have actually managed to get a prolonged spell in their rightful position and even if they did the rest of the team were out of kilter.

No, it was the players who had been away on International duty Kenny Dougall & Shayne Lavery. That message from Thompson is idiotic especially when you think of the limited impact he has had this season.

Am I naive for thinking that might genuinely be about his holiday? You see people put stuff like that on social media when they're off on their jollies all the time. The get me outta here comment might just have been about the UK, as he's jetting off abroad.

The timing is a bit daft and if it was just an ill timed comment, he should have more sense to think how it could be interpreted. Certainly be mental if he meant to as in Blackpool, I'd hardly say he's been treated poorly - plenty of chances after giving away multiple goals.
 
I think it's definitely just about going on holiday but still, when you're in the spotlight, even if it's just a provincial local spotlight you need a bit more common sense on the optics.

I could actually see him being decent in league one.

He  is going on holiday.

Your Squires Gate comment is another non sequitur. Again, the lad can go wherever he wants, I don't think anyone is denying him of that.

I think it's more the manner in which he posted about it, on the day of the final game of our relegated season, saying he has been packed for weeks.

You'd think his few braincells might have considered that fact some fans might construe that to mean his head has been out of the game for weeks, and that he has been itching to get away from the club.

Again, not arsed about Dom's post myself but if you have a big following you've got to consider how things will be read.

Whether fans are being too precious or not is another matter, but no one is annoyed at someone taking a holiday when they're off work. That's what I said you're being disingenuous about.

Some people pack weeks before they go. I personally pack the day before!

This is the issue with social media.

It's how people take things people say and then write their own narrative on how they were meant, and then everyone jumps on the bandwagon.

He's been nowhere near the team for weeks.

Mate, I said no one is seemingly begrudging a player for taking a holiday, which your OP suggested, more so for the manner/timing in which it was posted. Not sure if you're deliberately missing the point here but I'm leaving it there.
