Thousands March through the streets of London

It was very good and well organised at Bloomers pal. Had to queue for toilets and well signposted etc. I was very impressed.
Cant comment on protests as not been to one since the Oyscum years.

I'm not suggesting it wasn't. I'm simply saying that it's different to being outside and more areas of potential risk exist. Plus... Protest is actually a protected right under the Human Rights Act... Watching football, I'm not so sure.

I'm not arguing with you! Simply commenting on my experience.

What are the standard right wing responses.
" They should go and protest in North Korea or Russia! See where that gets them.
"If the police tell you to do something and you don't comply you deserve what happens"
"They were looking for trouble so they could have their look at me moment"
Interesting that the supporters of these idiots are happily posting video produced by a Russian State Broadcaster to support their argument too.

Typical left wing response and not a tap when BLM,Corbyn's brother etc where protesting.
How about the middle road both as bad as each other. 👍

My argument that people shouldn't be arrested for walking through a park you mean?

I note also that you attended a few much more violent and heavily congested protests earlier this year under harsher lockdown restrictions. ** hypocrite.

I walked from St Pancras to Euston yesterday just after 11am. I counted 70+ police vans, 16 motor bikes and foot officers off the scale. My first thought was I didn’t realise there were so many police in the country. My second thought was a weary sadness that so much resources needed to police objectors who just don’t get it!

Well said👍🏻

5 boroughs above 200, 5 more below 100, the rest somewhere in the middle.

All but two falling, some of them fast.
The reason London is in tier 2 is because they have a lot more hospitals and therefore capacity to cope. Most places have one and that's been starved of funds in the name of 'efficiency' for at least a decade. The number of cases per 100k is not the only measure.

I don't think there is a surer sign that minds have been completely warped. Cat believes protests against Jackboot Johnson exercising emergency powers are morally unjustifiable.

Talk about a volte-face 😨

Making stuff up as usual Wiz?

I could be wrong but I imagine he was aware of the irony.

The difference is that those protesting at the weekend want to work.
Want to work my arse... They're just upset that they can't sit in Wetherspoons getting pissed up on their dole money... 👎

You have a poor view of British people. Well, some of them - the lumpenproletariat. Do you think that it was this class of people who were demonstrating?

I'm not sure what this means, but they looked like a right bunch of dirty herberts to me... barely a set of teeth between them.

Don't know if you've been to London but they have more hospitals than Blackpool, some of which are world leading. Capacity is a factor. That's all factual.

A city with a population of 9,000,000 has more hospitals than a town with a population of 140,000, surely this cannot be true!

Fun fact the region with the most general and acute beds per capita is ..........drum roll......... the North West.

London is well stocked with critical care beds, I suspect a lot of that is there to serve the surrounding areas, which have some of the lowest per capita in the country, and to support specialist services again covering the whole region and beyond,

Fun fact no#2: the region with the second highest number of critical care beds is............ the North West.

Finally, since we were originally talking about why NW is T3 and London is T2, here are two charts showing total numbers of patients in hospital, see if you can work out which one is London and which is the NW.

That town with a population has a hospital that has a catchment for far more than that by the time you take in Wyre and Fylde using the same facility. Plus a populace with one of the worst health records in the country for obesity, diabetes, etc etc. Doesnt Blackpool have the lowest life expectancy in the country?

Walking through the streets of London
I'll show you something to make you change your mind could be a caption for this thread
One of my favourite songs that , ever since mr bailey got his guitar out and started singing it to the class all those years ago when I was in year 2 at anchorsholme primary👍

It is a good song and reminds us all how lucky we are to live on the Gold Coast.
We haven't had much to cheer about over the generations socially, economically and been stripped of funds by a number of governments ; but we've stuck together as a community and given it a go.

Well some of us anyway.

Anyway - photo here of Oxford Street yesterday in London.
An absolute disgrace and shows the double standards and hypocrisy of the people who live in London.
No respect for each other and for the rest of the country too.

Just seen the pictures in the Sunday Mail, rather alarming really seeing thousands of people shoulder to shoulder few wearing masks.
A stupid time to make the road a traffic free zone on a Saturday (3 planned) on the run up to Christmas just plain stupid.
Amazing what you can get away with being in tier 2. 🙄

Absolutely -sorry my photo didn't load- but it is despicable behaviour by those with a London postcode. A sad reflection of a community driven by greed and self importance,as they sit there drinking cappuccinos.
