ticket prices again

I just noticed that Fleetwood fans are being asked to pay £24 at Lincoln next week. Steep, when you consider the facilities you get there.

I think our match day prices are a bit too high, but seeing some of the other prices knocking about make them seem less bad.

Its not just us then

I was reading the Bristol City message board and they were having a right moan about their tickets

Between 40 and 50 quid in the stand to the right of where we were

Seems a lot of their fans are disappointed with 18k and the fact it was a gold category game against us

Yeah, that was my point really.

It's other things as well. I was looking at train fares for Millwall the other day, they have got a lot dearer since last time I did it.

Bristol City only had one lower gate than their gate against us the season before last.[when crowds were attending]

First game back for 18 months though

Surely you would think that all crowds would be up

Surely there aren't that many people scared of Covid

Our prices are below average for the championship.
Lincoln's about average for league one.
We haven't been used to the reality of ticket prices elsewhere for years

And it was about 2/3rds empty….doesn’t make a lot of sense charging for something people don’t want

Our ticket prices are very reasonable for a Championship club…

Football's not a cheap experience anymore (sixty odd quid for us 2 and a 4 year old g/son Vs Cardiff) and low income families cannot afford to attend.
However, it's far cheaper than a visit to the Pleasure Beach, where we intended to go to watch him on the kids rides on Saturday ...... that's £124!

You'd be surprised! I don't think it will affect the gate that much actually, but I know some people who still have barely left their house since it started. Utterly ridiculous and totally taken in by all the scaremongering on tv.

I had a look at some of the crowds from the weekend, some were as expected, some a little down. Rovers only managed 10,260 and PNE 12,452 so about right for PNE, a bit down for Rovers. Not sure if that's anything to do with Covid though.

I think people are missing the point. It’s NOT just football, football is just getting on board with everything else.

That's expensive

I think we'll find as the season goes on that our match day tickets aren't to much different from other clubs.
I think we have to accept that's the going rate.
Of course the old fuddy daddies might be a bit more health conscious and that might keep them away and the students might not be able to afford to go.
No easy answers and there will always be criticism whatever the solution is.

I'm not sure it will be Covid related; but how many people have lost jobs or had hours reduced etc?

Football is in the entertainment business and with every game available for buttons on a Firestick with a 2 minute delay, it's an alternative for a fraction of the price.

It will never beat being there for the raw emotion, but we've got used to going mental in our own front rooms offer the last 12 months.

iFollow could impact on gates for the less glamorous games certainly for those who can only afford to pick and choose them.

Yes, football is really just too expensive these days, across the board, for a lot of people. Families especially.

The prices to watch our lot are reasonable. 2nd tier football. With some in our division paying PL wages and fees. We have to compete.

Spot on 👍. The cost of concert tickets are now through the roof particularly for the older bands and generally you only get approx 2 hours entertainment, now those costs are difficult to justify to yourself!
Not the same. Watching Genesis, for example, is once every few years not 23 times a year and another 10+ to travel to see them.

Cardiff charged Barnsley fans just £20 a ticket on Saturday and I’ve heard that’s going to be their policy for other away visitors to their ground according to what one of their ST holders told me today

It’s hard to believe now that growing up during the 60’s/70’s/80’s when a Saturday involved both these entertainments,a Cinema ticket was on a par with a match ticket, now it’s about 5 times more to go to a game! It’s a fackn joke how greed has infiltrated the game over the years in one way or another, but too late to change anything now.

I think ive paid about 80 odd quid for my ticket for Genesis most gig tickets for big bands are 60 quid plus though i did pay over 400 to see the Rolling stones a few years back that was a bit mental.

I get what your saying as a one off but some people are regular concert goers, but there’s an argument for all cases where money is spent and whether you get value for money.

Value for money when talking about football is nonsense as its dependent on results

Bristol cost me about 300 quid and around 10 hours of travel time

Was it worth it, of course it was

The last minute equaliser was priceless

However if we had of lost then it certainly wouldn't have been worth it

Cheapskate. You should’ve stayed out all night 🤣🤣🤣

That’s why the stand was half empty!

Attendances were down generally all over apparently.

Remember also pne attendance include their big freebies maybe 2k+ plus they held season ticket holders seats until after the game, so any that didn't renew would still have been counted probably.

It'd also be interesting to know how many Hull were at the game, and the same for Swansea at Rovers.

Ticket prices reflect the gentrification of the game.
The working classes are squeezed dry and the unemployed downright locked out.

I have no problem if folk want to be scared of Covid but it is clear that football attendances in the UK are not being seriously reduced by fears of Covid among supporters.

Maybe BFC should be more different than other clubs and perhaps be more forward thinking ?

Some talk of how BFC is a "community asset" but are happy for some of the community to be excluded from attending because of price.

Charge them less and get as many in as possible.
