Its bizarreIt's not difficult to figure out if you need to sit, go to the front row. No one can stand up in front of you there.

Hope YS are not having meet up in either of the station bars?Just ordered my tickets. Up the Pool
That's the plan. We went there last season.Hope YS are not having meet up in either of the station bars?
I would be easier if people just used common sense and realised it was a football matchPerhaps what would make it easier if the home club issued a seating plan to the club shop and for those who wanted to sit surely they would be able pick their seats away from those wanting to stand. For Huddersfield I’ve no idea where Block 5 or 6 is in relationship to the away fans stand, but when l picked my tickets up this morning l wasn’t asked if l wanted Block 5 or 6 and it’s not clear on the tickets either but l will be standing somewhere as normal as it’s a massive part of the atmosphere we generate. I think this is being massively over complicated not helped by the unavailability of a seating plan.
Not true. People always stand in front of you. I've taken my elderly FIL and it was very poor. We wobble him up a few rows now. It's not difficult to figure out if you need to sit, go to the front row. No one can stand up in front of you there.
Would a seating plan help? Not true. People always stand in front of you. I've taken my elderly FIL and it was very poor. We wobble him up a few rows now.

why would a seating plan help? Front row is front row. People stand in front of you whilst they're trying to watch the game and go for a slash/beer at the same time. Suggest you try it if you don't believe meWould a seating plan help?
Never said l didn’t believe you and I’m not being specific to the front row, if you had the choice of choosing specific seats say closer to the front and at the side of a block then this would surely help? At the moment all fans are buying tickets with no idea where they are!why would a seating plan help? Front row is front row. The point should be that all away games are all just unreserved seatsNever said l didn’t believe you and I’m not being specific to the front row, if you had the choice of choosing specific seats say closer to the front and at the side of a block then this would surely help? Surely thats just as they go past, like anywhere, a temporary thing.why would a seating plan help? Front row is front row. People stand in front of you whilst they're trying to watch the game and go for a slash/beer at the same time. Suggest you try it if you don't believe me
They never will be Phil for a number of reasons unless it's back to terraces and that’s why l suggested the above proposal as we need to make away matches convenient for all. One thing for sure is l bet those who bought restricted view tickets on Saturday weren’t sat in their allocated seats! The point should be that all away games are all just unreserved seats
Its a non issue except for a handful of fuddy duddiesThey never will be Phil for a number of reasons unless it's back to terraces and that’s why l suggested the above proposal as we need to make away matches convenient for all. Just pointing out that they are really poor seats for people who struggle as there is a constant march to the bog which blocks the view and if (when) anything exciting happens they all stop and stand in front of you. I did it once and it was so bad we now move up a few rows. Thats just how it is.Surely thats just as they go past, like anywhere, a temporary thing.
Who's standing in front of you on the front row at away games? Not true. People always stand in front of you. I've taken my elderly FIL and it was very poor. We wobble him up a few rows now.
I’m not sure that’s a realistic possibility… The club just get a large block of tickets and just sell them as they go along I think.Never said l didn’t believe you and I’m not being specific to the front row, if you had the choice of choosing specific seats say closer to the front and at the side of a block then this would surely help? Can you ‘Guarantee’ that people can sit down unobstructed Steve?I should probably have added that technically there is no standing at Huddersfield - but if you want to guarantee you can sit down, best to book in block 6 via the ticket office, not via online.
I think he means in certain ground layouts at the front like at Bloomfield Road people walk in front to get to the tunnels and go to the bar etc.Who's standing in front of you on the front row at away games?
Yes, I get that at Bloomfield Rd, but this discussion is about away allocationsI think he means in certain ground layouts at the front like at Bloomfield Road people walk in front to get to the tunnels and go to the bar etc.
When I was in the shop t'other week there was a guy trying to buy tickets for the Burnley game who took at least 20 mins of the staffs time because he needed to sit down and the staff didn’t know the layout of the stand, it was comical listening to the conversation !I’m not sure that’s a realistic possibility… The club just get a large block of tickets and just sell them as they go along I think.
So allocating an entire block is possible, but trying to allocate seating to a plan would likely take too much time.
Some away will be similar some not. A lot will have the entrance higher up like Burnley do should be no issue.Yes, I get that at Bloomfield Rd, but this discussion is about away allocations
Can't think of many in this division where the away fans walk along the front to get to their places. Some away will be similar some not. A lot will have the entrance higher up like Burnley do should be no issue.
Yes, no way to differentiate online. You have 2 alternatives: buy them via the ticket office who are up to speed with this proposed arrangement; or if you can only buy online, email tickets@blackpolfc.co.uk with details of what you have purchased and they will allocate you the 'seated' block if that is your preference. It's not perfect but the best I could negotiate.
The problem is that not everyone will know the score so this will probably end up making things worseI don't know why it's so complicated. If there's say 4 blocks worth of tickets, have 1 block allocated seating or 'unwritten rule' seating then the rest just do whatever. As long as everyone knows the score then it's pretty easy.
Thanks. Well-spotted - have corrected.Hi Steve, just to let you know (to avoid gripes) the link is wrong below, typo by the looks of things.
With a bit of collective understanding and collaboration, maybe. Can you ‘Guarantee’ that people can sit down unobstructed Steve?
What would happen (for example) if the first few front rows of the notional ‘seating area’ were accidentally purchased online by people who stand at games (which of course most people do) ?
I've told you what should happenWith a bit of collective understanding and collaboration, maybe.
TBH, if you've a medical condition where you HAVE to sit down I would think it's rather difficult trying to get an unobstructed view at an away match. When I was in the shop t'other week there was a guy trying to buy tickets for the Burnley game who took at least 20 mins of the staffs time because he needed to sit down and the staff didn’t know the layout of the stand, it was comical listening to the conversation !
Fully agree Wizzer, the point l was making was the guy and staff were having a conversation that neither could draw to a conclusion, thats why l suggested in earlier threads the availability of a block / seating plan may have helped this discussion and any future discussions.TBH, if you've a medical condition where you HAVE to sit down I would think it's rather difficult trying to get an unobstructed view at an away match.
Whether we like it or not not everyone is able to stand for the full 90 minutes +
Christ almighty really ?you still get some telling you to sit down.
Great in principle, but maybe not so much on Matchday. It feels like a potential flashpoint to me.With a bit of collective understanding and collaboration, maybe.

No wonder the south is so poor for atmosphere with this type of sit down moaners in it. For a momentary standing too, when something happens it's perfectly normal to stand. You might sit, but the bloke in front of you won't, and so it goes.
I sit in the South, but it's a reflex action to stand up when a cross comes into the box. Everyone does it, but you still get some telling you to sit down.
It's not the cinema. It's an interactive, highly emotional event and people rise to their feet if they think there's going to be a goal.
Common senseGreat in principle, but maybe not so much on Matchday. It feels like a potential flashpoint to me.
The very least we need here is for the online and ticket office systems to be in synch…
And the fact is at high demand games people will just buy up whatever tickets they can get their hands on regardless.
I don’t have an issue with trying to sort something out… Personally a basic unwritten rule and guidance for sitters get there early and to use the front rows makes most sense to me…. Or maybe, if possible, allocate front rows for seating instead of a block.
Bigger clubs will have more of their boisterous people attending away games.Mental that Sheff United, Birmingham, Boro etc who sell out everywhere don’t have this “standing issue.”
They mustn’t have any supporters over the age of 50, I guess.
Yeah so when the standing section sells fast and the next lot of people allowed to purchase can only get the remaining section what then..... 100 lads all together turn up and are going to sit down?Great in principle, but maybe not so much on Matchday. It feels like a potential flashpoint to me.

Listen lad I know we had a disagreement on Saturday, ( we will get over it) but this woman made her bed, what the fuvk does she expect?? I would be there all day long next to them but my daughter banned meThere was an elderly woman right next to the Burnley fans apparently had a panic attack
That was probably her allocated seat
I've no idea why it took her about 30 mins to move
These are the sort of incidents that wouldn't happen if people just used common sense
I know mate its fine not arsed about thatListen lad I know we had a disagreement on Saturday, ( we will get over it) but this woman made her bed, what the fuvk does she expect?? I would be there all day long next to them but my daughter banned me
I don't think everyone wants allocated seats (at least I don't) just some to the side or to the front where people who can't stand for the whole game for whatever reason are able to go and for want of a better couple of words be out of the way of the more boisterous.I know mate its fine not arsed about that
I just don't understand all this people wanting the allocated seat stuff it doesn't make any sense at all
I’ll put my reply a slightly different way… (as I’m not sure the last one explained where I was coming from too well)With a bit of collective understanding and collaboration, maybe.
Not trying to be funny, but can they not work that out for themselves on the day? Be an adult and identify where to sit?I don't think everyone wants allocated seats (at least I don't) just some to the side or to the front where people who can't stand for the whole game for whatever reason are able to go and for want of a better couple of words be out of the way of the more boisterous.
