I didn't boo him, mainly because I thought that would motivate him and result in his scoring or making a goal - thankfully it didn't!

Nah, never thought he was all that and his many subsequent failed chances goes to prove that. Can't blame Pince for ruining his whole career. Ultimately he's been an average championship player who at 1 point thought he was much better... he was also very arrogant much like his old man. An unpopular opinion that will come up many times again!

I'll accept ypu're being partly ironic, but that was a shit chant considering what david eyres did for us. he only left us due to oyston penny-pinching.

maybe if this messageboard was active then, more people might have said how embarrassing it was too.

and as you well know, the concept of 'fair game' can be a slippery slope, with boundaries not well understood, especially by the noisiest.

i'd much prefer a witty wind-up than misguided abuse for the sake of it. it's not that difficult.
 
Bit different. Didn’t David Eyres leave us for Burnley? I still don’t know why our fans give abuse to Tom Ince? Even worse they copy a chant PNE sang to him when he played for us. I was almost willing Tom Ince to score just he could laugh at the idiots.

I’m not being remotely ‘ironic’ in fact I’m absolutely amazed that we’re even talking about this.

Can you imagine this kind of utterly ridiculous conversation taking place at a club like Galatasaray.

I’m all for dropping the kind of stuff that every club should be dropping, but football doesn’t need to go completely soft… We’ve got people ‘feeling sorry’ in case the player gets ‘hurty wurty’ feeewlings … good god !!

Let’s get in the opposition team and players faces as much as practically possible…. It’s a bit of booing and verbal abuse ffs… what a bunch of fannies 👎

I understand you might enjoy banter and winding up the opposition and I am not the woke police but is a chant using the C word really what we want to hear at our club?

Surely something less distasteful and amusing would be better.

it's not about going soft - i miss (some aspects of) the old days as much as the next fan of a certain age.

we are as intimidating as it gets in our division (given our size) through our sheer intensity. not because we are horrible twats.

booing ex-players who did well for us is poor form. i suppose we'll just have to agree to disagree.

TBH I really couldn't give shit....We've got a fantastic set of fans who create a brilliant atmosphere and you won't catch me apologising to some two bob up his own arris ex-player who ended up striding around like a ** peacock thinking he was better than everyone else and the Club itself, for whatever they choose to chant.

** is probably one of THE most powerful words in the English Language and I'd encourage anyone and everyone to use the word much more liberally. 👍
 
Agree with the O/P to be honest. I enjoyed watching him when he played for us and while it's not the biggest deal in the world the stick he got today was a bit classless. And we are certainly not Galatasary thankfully.

I was in the South West. Few boos but not it wasn’t too bad. He was a great player for us and if people can’t appreciate that then it’s pretty bad. They will probably boo Bowler when he returns as an opposition player one day.
 
Average player at best. His Dad ruined him because his own self confidence was shot when Sir Alex fucked him off to the Dippers because he got too big for his own Boots and asked his own team mates to call him “the Guvnor” ffs 😂
