Tom Pidcock

He's an absolute legend.

Golden era for cycling at the moment Pidcock, Van Aert, Van der Poel, Evanapoel and Pogacar. All young lads. They will battle the grand tours and classics for the next decade.

Oh and Froomey coming 3rd today. What a stage.

I think the UK scientists producing THE best masking agents to cover the drugs should be up for gold aswell. If these cyclists were chinese or russian there would be plenty of raised eyebrows. If people dont believe it happens then read up on team sky and the effect they have had on cycling.

On a more positive not it was great to see Froom back at the front and even better to see a great rider taking shape in Pidcock, what a fantastic bike handler he is, that decent WoW.

You only come up with tripe like this because cycling is open about it's rigorous drug testing.

Maybe it's time other sports did the same. Might stop ignorant comments like the one above. You think football is clean?

Funny how many of these elite athletes suffer from asthma & that comment came from a keen cyclist with a wink of the eye.

I don't feel cynical about Pidcock. Could be wrong but he seems a genuinely talented and very genuine lad. Winning highly technical races in mountain biking and cyclocross too.

I always thought Brailsford seemed a bit dodgy.

Isnt it the Liverpool team that all has asthma?!

But what's his goal-scoring/assists ratio? 🙄

No I think there are drug cheats in almost all competitive sport but I think cycling is particularly rife with it and team GB has some of the biggest culprits

You can think that but you'd be wrong.

Rumours currently that it's rife in football. Lot's of stuff on the internet about the superhuman efforts of one half of the Merseyside and one half of the Glasgow derbies respectively. Can run all day and night some of these football players.

You're not in the know and got no names but you can see the facts? 🤣 Or hear the facts speaking, rather.
Feel free to look up Dr richard freeman and his effect on UK cycling...you may even learn something...do you actually watch the cycling or is it just a passing interest for you?

I watch it and i cycle and I know a fair bit about it.
OK you know more than me then as I just pick up what I read online and in the papers so I will bow to your better knowledge...are you not in the least bit suspicious of the improvement levels and what would you think if it were chinese or russian athletes given their previous form? I guess I am saying that GB also has a great number of skeletons in the cupboard...have a read about the good doctor and it may open your eyes up to the likelihood that the sport is riddled with drug cheats

Yes i am always suspicious and i realised Sky was bending the rules when others were defending Sky. Fell out with a cycling mate over it!

We can just write it all off, or we can watch it and enjoy it whilst maintaining a degree of skepticism at the same time. Im sure football has similar stuff happening, with so much money and prestige at stake. Athletics certainly does. Should we switch it all off?

As far as Tom Pidcock goes, he is very much an individual who has grown up on a bike and is a very rare talent who shifts between three different disciplines and wins in all 3. There is a very high skill level in mountain biking that drugs cant assist. Apart from boosting raw fitness. He strikes me as a real lover if the sport and i have no reason to doubt his honesty. Time may prove me wrong but i will go there when theres some evidence and theres none thus far. I'm very happy to enjoy his talent as a spectator and applaud his achievements.
