Tonight’s attendance

Healthy home attendance

I don’t think we would have take many to Cheltenham in the same circs (0 away goals, bottom and going down in the 1t. Harter of the season etc)

Than goodnesss for now we worry about other things

Cods do subsidise their excellent away transport - good to see a Club especially struggling one supporting its fans
And Soton had a tenth of the gate at PKEtonight 1500 - that’s impressive

At least they brought more than double the amount of fans Swansea did back in 1995, think this was the only time I managed to accurately count away fans.

Reasons why they should have brought more than what was sat in the Press Box. 😉

New manager 2 weeks ago.
A draw against Derby, followed by . . .
A win against Cambridge.
Half term.
Blackpool Illuminations on.
A new ground for most.
Cheltenham exiles nearer to Blackpool.
85% of the population of Blackpool.

I hadn't realised either that when we won promotion in 2001 v Leyton Orient, the first time the Millennium Stadium was used we got a crowd of 23,600. The following season Cheltenham played the same fixture and had a crowd of over 24,000 v Rushden.

Alan Wright played for them.

They were founded the same year as us, 1887.

‘Could’ have brought more
I have never met anyone from Cheltenham living in Lancs

The gate at Cardiff’s Millenium - we had around 16,000 (Orient 6/7,000) there and the other two Clubs the following year are within an hour of the stadium

I thought the 2001 final was the most important game our Club ever faced - it paved the way for much success and got us back in the football line light - it was also a drama filled match - had we lost, I’m not sure we’d have recovered - Brett was always going to leave and Simmo was on his last legs

It was a great day for us and I felt very sorry for the Orient fans who seemed stunned and lost in that defeat.
