Perhaps something about being innocent until proven guilty. Stupid, I know
Yet 21 had the whip withdrawn for voting against the Government on an aspect of Brexit. Priorities.Perhaps something about being innocent until proven guilty. Stupid, I know
I'd be suspended from my job pretty quickly with that sort of allegation...regardless of innocent until proven guilty.
I see it's doing the social media rounds with regards to who it is.
Would have been uproar if Blackburn wasn't suspended and that was with unspecified allegations. Its a good job that none of our local Council leaders or MPs haven't been accused of anything similar.Mind you the EFL would probably allow them past the FPP test given the O's got a free ride, and one or two on here never complained about it at the time.
Funny how some people complain about one thing after rather subjectively not bothering when it affects them-must be something to with the Houses of Parliament and its government offices.
I think so but that's probably been pushed by the general consensus around the country. In some respects it might have helped if OO had been convicted more recently, given that convicted sex predators seem to get less tolerance from communities.Would have been uproar if Blackburn wasn't suspended and that was with unspecified allegations.
What court? At the moment the MP has been arrested and released on bail. The court have ordered his name not be disclosed. If a Tory MP gets the whip withdrawn then that’s basically identifying him and breaching the order.
two words... Carl Beech.
innocent until proven guilty.
Yep my mistake. Police bail so no order. Still think anonymity is appropriate at this point where accusations are under investigation by police. What court? At the moment the MP has been arrested and released on bail.
Unless someone has obtained an injunction of some sort.
I tend to agree on the anonymity point. Especially as disclosing the identity would also reveal the identity of the complainant/victim.Yep my mistake. Police bail so no order. Still think anonymity is appropriate at this point where accusations are under investigation by police.
So as i said, Cliff Richard had a TV crew in a helicopter overhead when his house was raided by the police. Does anonymity only apply if you're an MP?I tend to agree on the anonymity point. Especially as disclosing the identity would also reveal the identity of the complainant/victim.
Still it’s fun speculating. And I have my suspicions from the names mentioned in the media reports.
Yep. Although I think the police and media got pelters over the Cliff Richard reports. After the event. So as i said, Cliff Richard had a TV crew in a helicopter overhead when his house was raided by the police. Does anonymity only apply if you're an MP?

Yes, I agree with that.Move It. Great rock n roll record. Probably the finest British one recorded in the 50’s.
Come on Wiz, what happened to Cliff Richard was a fecking disgrace but surely that doesn't mean that another person should have his life/career damaged on the strength of an allegation.
What happened to Cliff shouldn't have happened to anybody but certainly shouldn't happen to somebody else just because they happen to be a member of a political party that you are not fond of.

Why is it he remains unnamed but others in exactly the same position subsequently found innocent, were arrested with an accompanying TV crew? Jimmy Tarbuck and Cliff Richard spring to mind.
Just because a 54 year old ex minister and current Tory MP with a European sounding name has disappeared from social media and is trending on twitter, it doesn't mean he's the subject of the investigation. There are another dozen that fit the bill.Is is that angry, vertically challenged, war obsessed, Penfold doppleganger with a middle name Gino and is the chairman of the ultimate shyster clan? Please tell me it is.....

As SSP said, in any other walk of life, with this type of serious allegation over you, you'd be suspended from work on full pay until the outcome was known. I'm amazed that someone with this hanging over him can turn up and deal with parliamentary business. The Cliff Richard analogy was for example reasons, not because I think it was right to do so.Come on Wiz, what happened to Cliff Richard was a fecking disgrace but surely that doesn't mean that another person should have his life/career damaged on the strength of an allegation.

The ACAS Code of Practice on Discipline at Work, recommends that, in the case of serious allegations of misconduct, the employee should be immediately suspended on full pay, pending an investigation of the matter.
Yep - have been there with a guy who used to work for me who had been arrested on a serious charge. Not an easy situation as the reason for his suspension leaked out and I had a few staff who then refused to work with him if he ever came back. He pleaded guilty in court and was dismissed shortly afterwards so that issue never arose. The ACAS Code of Practice on Discipline at Work, recommends that, in the case of serious allegations of misconduct, the employee should be immediately suspended on full pay, pending an investigation of the matter.
No, he's a representative of the local community. They can change parties without another vote.two questions following from the above
- is an M.P. ‘employed’ by his political party
- doesn’t suspending the whip means kicking someone out of the party, not ‘suspending’ them
Robbie,Interestingly, his is NOT the name I've heard.
That parody account is quite simply the funniest thing on Twitter, it's superb, n'est-ce pas?His parody account has stopped tweeting too.
Robbie,
Would it by chance be a massive brexiteer and a side kick of Rees Mogg? There's a certain irony he hates Europe given his surname. Allegedly, of Course.
Have you got your finger up the nose of the Nations pulse by any chance?Giro, the name I have been given is NOT his. I've been told that it is an ex-Cabinet Minister. The internet, eh?
