Tricky start?

I am always wary of playing promoted teams at the start of the season. They are on a high with the momentum still there from last season with a feel good factor about the place (how many clichés in one sentence?). Look at us v Leicester in 2017 and Wigan in the Prem. I would rather us play teams that were mid table or lower the previous season. Last season v Bristol Rovers and Southend, for me, was an easier start.

Different this year as momentum was halted by the virus and may have been lost.

Momentum has been killed for everyone. I think a promoted team will fear our movement when they watch the footage (maybe why the games have disappeared from the YouTube?)

It is what it is.

In many ways we're stepping into the unknown. New manager, pretty much a new team and squad. We just have to wait and see and hope that it turns out to be a good season.
Stepping into the unknown is about right.
It won't be easy that's for sure. They have a good manager in Ryan Lowe, continuity with the squad and momentum from last season.
We have an untried manager and a new squad. It's a possibility that the starting 11 against Plymouth could not have one player in it from the side that started last seasons first game.
This is the reality which makes it all very interesting and I'm looking forward to seeing if NC can get the revamped squad up and running from the off.

This. I've absolutely no idea if we'll be mid table again or win the league. Looking forward to finding out though!

The downside for Swindon is that most of that promoted team will be playing in tangerine 🤣🤣

My first ever visit to London, in fact my first away match was to Spurs opening match of the season and they had just come up from league two, we thrashed them 4-1, so don't worry.

You would like to have an easier start but look at last year, our good start put us in a false position in a way and allowed Grayson far to much goodwill from Simon before he was eventually found out and potted. I'd rather test ourselves early and get a feel for whereabouts we'll be. If we have aspirations to get in the top 6 it doesn't matter who we play we need to grind out decent results.
