Anybody else have problems getting in tonight? Missed the first ten mins due to turnstiles not working. Staff sorted it as best as they could but come me on let’s sort this. Great game by the way. UTMP.

It's the print at home that's causing delays with bar codes not scanning.

Stupid system, relying on people's dodgy ink, paper etc, screwed up in pockets, no doubt wet with the downpour. No wonder they don't work.

Wonder when we'll join the 21st century and be able to use mobiles. Even Fylde had those 5 years ago.

P.s. I'm glad I don't have to queue to pick up match tickets often, tonight was painful.

There is always problems with the ticket scanners the print as home system doesn't work they either need to upgrade the system or go back to only buying your ticket from the club.
I know you need better quality of paper for it to work but who on earth is going to that when their normal stuff gets them in everywhere.

It’s not dodgy ink, the scanners are crap. I printed tickets on a top of the line printer at work and it wasn’t scanning at 5 and 6. Used the same printer for tons of other things without an issue. Oystons took the cheap option on the readers I reckon.

I have been 3 or 4 matches now on the print-at-home system and the times I used photo paper which all scanned even before I inserted it properly.
The time I used cheap paper at the friendly it wouldn't scan.

Edit: Just to add to that at the Swindon game I printed both my own and my friend ticket on photo paper and both scanned instantly.
At the playoff game, he printed his own on cheap paper and it wouldn't scan at all like my effort at the friendly on cheap paper.

The scanners are old. But probably at hard to replace as the actual system is obsolete, was the cheapest when new and the vendor disappeared long ago.
I was told they were going to be replacing the whole ticketing system, but that hasn't happened yet.
If you think for League games 90% of people have season ticket cards, it becomes much less of an issue.
But I have to say, I have never had an issue with print at home tickets, on a cheap printer with cheap paper. I used to work in the barcode industry. We could read really poorly printed codes generated on old dot matrix printers. It's not the printing that's the issue, it's the readers. Supermarket self-scan readers used to be far less reliable than they are now, the technology has improved massively. Keeping the lenses clean might help, and testing which turnstiles have less reliable barcode readers and marking them as for season ticket holders only.

Correct I've managed to get on a flight, concerts and traveled on trains in Europe with same paper and ink the scanners don't work at BFC.

Just guessing here but I printed our tickets at home last night and my printer default settings were cutting the last line/number from the barcode. I had to mess about with the settings on my printer to make it fit the page. Perhaps not having the barcode right at the edge of the page might help?

You think last night was bad i went to anfield on sunday they have a new ticket system at kick off time there were thousands outside they delayed it by 30 mins a right shambles.

As Halifax says surely mobile devices are the way forward
You buy your ticket online and it downloads into your apple wallet or equivalent
No queuing / reduces strain on the ticket office and stops the pointless queuing

You need the right type of reader though - our readers are slot-tyre barcode scanners, so you couldn't easily read a phone using them. And as I said, it's not an issue if 90% of people have season ticket cards.

Not all of us have reached the 21st century Tim; we have a Mobi Wire, so we'll have to stick with printing tickets off & hope they work on Saturday - especially as we have our 4 year ol grandson @ his first game (if the caravans have gone & we can park!)

Agree that mobile pass is the way forward. The scanners hardly ever work and I use an ‘industrial’ printer. Bit of a shambles last night and was surprised they didn’t delay kick off as people were still outside then?

Even those not ‘up to speed’; it would reduce the numbers on paper tickets.

Went on turnstile 1 with ages before kick off (as advised on that missive sent out).

Printed at work, toner and cheap paper.

We did fold it as stated.

TSSJr1 in it goes - and gives that amber light for discount.

I put mine in, no bother at all.

The exact same thing happened at Blackpool vs Reading in January 2020.

Even for the Burnley game in pre-season, my tickets said to go in turnstile 7-10, went to 7 and the tickets wouldn't scan because it was the "wrong turnstile".

Think first questions that need to be asked was this caused by people POTD (I presume u could?)

But regardless they need flexibility and staff that another turnstile can be opened straight away imo as ultimately the fan experience needs to be the best ever... as who is to say some of them fans only had ticket last night, got in 10 mins late so are unlikely to buy a ticket for sat (I know staffing will be more etc but perspective ain't good)

How about issuing a proper card ticket with a barcode on it or god forbid pay cash at a turnstile?

Hang on didn't we used to do that?😮

Someone Email SLO?
Plenty of fans did, poolseasider. The problems were discussed at the post-match debrief. On the club's side technical issues with a couple of readers are being sorted for Saturday. The SLO team will be around to help flex the queues. The request to fans with print-at-home tickets is to fold them properly and get to the turnstiles in good time (at least 30 mins before KO). Mobile ticketing is on the masterplan but the turnstile infrastructure will all need upgrading, so maybe one for next season.

Thanks Steve. 👍

It would also be useful if STHs could opt in to automatically purchase their seats for cup games or alternatively opt to assign cup tickets to the ST card.

That way we could use the card for these type of games also.

Noted WLDT. Will investigate if this is an option.

I anticipated problems with it being a cup game and decided to get there early and get a ticket at the ground pre match rather than play print-off roulette. I arrived at 7, queued less than 5 minutes to buy and there was no queue at the turnstile. Obviously if everyone did that it would be different.

But good old fashioned tickets might be a partial solution for this season? And arriving nice and early as SLO says. 👍

Just for a solution to an obvious issue if half the ground was closed like Wednesday then people in the south should have their seat mirrored to the closest available seat in the North. 👍🏻

Cue posts saying the poor can't afford mobiles.
