Getting ahead of ourselves a little.Huddersfield finished 6 points above the drop
Have so far signed Jordan Rhodes (past it), Matty Pearson from Luton (average) and former MK Dons keeper Lee Nicholls plus OG Turton.
I’ll be disappointed if we don’t finish above them.
I don't expect us to be in the bottom half of the Championship but we will be if we set Ollie Turton as the benchmark.Constantly seeing people knocking Turton down by saying he’s not good enough for Championship.
How much difference is there between the bottom half of the championship and the top of league one? Not much I reckon and Turton has been one of the most consistent performers for the league one play off winners
Good luck to him, he’ll do alright.
I agree. Turts would probably have just got my vote above Hubby but great teams are built around good full backs and I don't think either are quite good enough for the Championship.I've said all season he was a squad player at best. Yes, he's done a good job latterly but it's League One.
If we want to compete at the next level and not simply survive we have to get better in his position.
To be honest, I'd say the same about James Husband.
He signed his latest contract last year.If a post on here from a couple of months ago with players salaries is to be believed, wasn't he was bottom of the pile by a fair way, probably as a legacy of a contract he signed under the previous regime. No doubt him and his agent hedged their bets in advance of us going up. Cant fault him for this season, good luck to him. I had a fiver on him to score at Oxford at 16/1 !!!
There's offering a contract and offering a contract. Surely you figured that out when Karl was running things? For me, any player who is a regular in league one’s best defence is good enough to be part of their squad the following year in the championship. Which is why he was offered a contract. Because he’s good enough.
Must have a crap agent then. His salary was significantly lower than every one else. Get a new agent Ollie sack off the one you've got !!He signed his latest contract last year.
£800 per week apparently. If a post on here from a couple of months ago with players salaries is to be believed, wasn't he was bottom of the pile by a fair way, probably as a legacy of a contract he signed under the previous regime. This is a telling point. Lots of clubs are going to be in their position this summer.Huddersfield have slashed their wage bill with the players they released and appear to be cutting their cloth now.

He did a very commendable job for us last season and gave his all in every match, looks like even after his Huddersfield move was sorted, so thanks Ollie and all the best.
This might sound harsh, but I am more optimistic about the calibre of players we’ll be bringing in if we haven't offered him an acceptable package.
Looking at Huddersfield’s signings, I’d be very underwhelmed with who they’ve brought in so far, all looking for a last pay check, I actually think that’s a club we’ll finish higher than next season.
That’s my point, we seem to be a lot more diligent in where we choose to spend our transfer/wage budget.I’m sure we offered him the best package we could on the assumption we would use him as a regular but not guaranteed starter in L1 or backup in the Championship, hedging our bets at the time of course, and maybe would have matched Huds offer if we had the benefit of knowing which league we would be in. But even if he goes to Huds to be 3rd choice RB he will be earning more than he would have as our 2nd choice RB, that’s just a product of their recent history compared to ours and if we stay in the division for a couple of years that difference will dwindle away.
How many of our last promotion squad ended up in the Prem pulling up trees every week.Constantly seeing people knocking Turton down by saying he’s not good enough for Championship.

Who's going to be your, 'Turts' next season Kurt? His agent has performance a miracle here. Absolutely shocked he's got anything above L1 level. Great for us second half of last season but we can do better.
Not about liking or disliking. His stats in the first half of the season compared to second half justify what I was going on about. He was very poor.Who's going to be your, 'Turts' next season Kurt?
You never know you might end up grudgingly liking em all
The boo boys will go after Husband if he signs.Who's going to be your, 'Turts' next season Kurt?

And irrespective. I don't rate him. And he's had a ** miracle getting a contract at Huddersfield. I hope it sets him up for life but I see we can do far far better.
Not picking on anyone. He was absolutely shite before Christmas. Who will you furiously wank over next season? If Turton was that good, he wouldn't have left. It's as simple as that.Very poor?
He started 41 games, so doubt Critchley & most on here agree!
He was our most consistent starter, in other positions too & on lowest wage £800 per week apparently!
Ps who will you pick on next season??
