Who in their right minds thought that in a year we'd be four places higher in the Championship table then we were in League One at the time?
Crazy year .

Mid 20s but played less games. How many points did we have?
One point next week against Fulham, ex Premier and on top form would be amazing. Three points will make it a crazy year.Who in their right minds thought that in a year we'd be four places higher higher in the Championship table then we were in League One at the time?

If we went on the same run that we did after the Ipswich game we'd be up there, but they don't happen very often. We had 43 points last season after 27 games and 50 points after 32games. Can we get close to that in the next 5 games? Tall order and highly unlikely, but we are comfortably mid table and if we could get to 45 points after 32 games we shouldn't be discounted from at least trying to get around sixth place.
No, and we aren't scoring enough goals or dominating games like we did last season. A nice top 10 finish would be excellent for this season and we can really build on things then. I can see quite a few changes player wise next season. If we went on the same run that we did after the Ipswich game we'd be up there, but they don't happen very often.

It's certainly a chance whereas relegation isn't even in the equation, so they have nothing to lose and go for it. It may depend on the transfer window though. On the radio, they were saying just how well Forest and Middlesbrough were doing and how they could get automatic. We're four points behind Forest having played the same amount of games. Playoff push. It's on.

Suicidal? Get a grip.Thank you for this thread of positivity and uplift Lytham. There are still one or two posters on this board who seem fairly suicidal after a hard won scrappy 3 pointer with a few mislaid passes.
After the start of the season I'm both delighted, surprised and quietly optimistic about the season so far, the rest of this season and, of course, whatever next season brings. Well done you for staying positive
We rarely see them after a win, but they are there JJSuicidal? Get a grip.
Got to worth a cheeky tenner on us? Currently at 8 for the win.One point next week against Fulham, ex Premier and on top form would be amazing. Three points will make it a crazy year.
Good post
Presume he was referring to my post with some areas to improve... as I mentioned misplaced passes. We rarely see them after a win, but they are there JJ
4s for a draw, could be worth going half and half.Got to worth a cheeky tenner on us? Currently at 8 for the win.
Maybe, but then regret not lobbing it all on?4s for a draw, could be worth going half and half.
Hedge your bets ?
What they forget is that we had a terrible start to last season and had to play catch up and in the end missed out on auto by a midges dick. We were the best side in league 1 and it is no surprise we are way above Hull and Posh. We are only going one way and we are going to do it properly, may not be next season but the season after I wouldn't be surprised to see us as the Fulham of that season.Have been looking at the table and almost can't believe the teams we're above , been luxuriating in the huge gap between us and the relegation places, remembering every single "prediction table" that had us bottom, the Guardians one line "Blackpool do not look equipped to compete at championship level" season review. It's a much needed good feeling.
The same article had Cardiff and Hull as play off hopefuls and t'Rovers as relegation candidates.Have been looking at the table and almost can't believe the teams we're above , been luxuriating in the huge gap between us and the relegation places, remembering every single "prediction table" that had us bottom, the Guardians one line "Blackpool do not look equipped to compete at championship level" season review. The Guardian used to be a decent paper but a lot of its sports coverage, particularly of the Champoinship and below, is the laziest imaginable. Anyway, they can fuck right off because we are very clearly "equipped to compete at Championship level". Who'd have thunk it?Have been looking at the table and almost can't believe the teams we're above , been luxuriating in the huge gap between us and the relegation places, remembering every single "prediction table" that had us bottom, the Guardians one line "Blackpool do not look equipped to compete at championship level" season review. Bit too cheeky for me I think. We squoze a narrow win at home to a depleted Millwall side yesterday, without playing very well. I'd like to think we won't concede 6 next week but a win seems a long shot. I'd kiss the tenner before you hand it over.Got to worth a cheeky tenner on us? Currently at 8 for the win.
Might get involved Lytham, eight of us stuck a tenner on when we played Sheffield united away, paid 400 quid and covered a good portion of the beer consumed that dayBit too cheeky for me I think. But what you missed out of that sentence is we squeezed a narrow win at home to a depleted Millwall side with a depleted Blackpool side. That’s what made it so special.Bit too cheeky for me I think. We will be depleted next week too and I was talking about next week. But what you missed out of that sentence is we squeezed a narrow win at home to a depleted Millwall side with a depleted Blackpool side. That’s what made it so special.
And we weren't depleted?Bit too cheeky for me I think. We squoze a narrow win at home to a depleted Millwall side yesterday, without playing very well. I'd like to think we won't concede 6 next week but a win seems a long shot. I'd kiss the tenner before you hand it over.
Yeah, I get that. You never know though, we could all be pleasantly surprisedWe will be depleted next week too and I was talking about next week.
How is that relevant to our game against Fulham? Only in that it makes it an even harder game. And we weren't depleted?
Might happen on Saturday. We need another five nil to kick us on
Stewart will be fitter for another week and our new midfielders would have been signedHow is that relevant to our game against Fulham? Only in that it makes it an even harder game.
Let’s hope they’re thinking “it’s only Blackpool. We should easily beat teams like that”Might happen on Saturday.
Stewart fitter my arse.Stewart will be fitter for another week and our new midfielders would have been signed
Yep, many keep bangin' on about playing depleted competition yet don't consider our own missing players. But what you missed out of that sentence is we squeezed a narrow win at home to a depleted Millwall side with a depleted Blackpool side. That’s what made it so special.
Lytham did your hedge your bet today, or did you go full onGot to worth a cheeky tenner on us? Currently at 8 for the win.
I didn't think it did, we out played them but got a bit of a lesson in being clinical, better balls in and the strength of some teams physically. That early season desperate home defeat to Cardiff suggested we'd be in real trouble - and we're not.
Survival is success this season - near to the play off zone would be a massive achievement
Full on, oh well, my terrible run continues...Lytham did your hedge your bet today, or did you go full on
I talked myself out of it and didn't bother at all
