Two options this summer...

OK the afternoon after the debacle before and I'm going to be realistic. Critchley is probably staying. In which case we need a recruitment policy that fulfills the following criteria:
1. Players must be within budget.
2. Players who Critchley wants.
3. Sufficient recruits to build a 25 man squad.
4. Players who are high quality for League 1 or who Critchley believes he can develop.

The rest is up to Critchley. If he gets all that then we stand or fall on his tactics, his coaching and his man management.

Yes it happens once in a while when a club gets everything right over a period of time. Everything falls on nto place. A lot of clubs are trying to do that and it rarely happens, and they'll be relegated this season probably.
Sorry Boy but if the owner, manager, players and supporters ambitions are to be a mid table league 1 club then I'm afraid I'm out. I want us to be in the Championship going for promotion not being a mid table league 1 side toying with the play offs one season and the bottom 6 the next. I'm actually surprised at you. If Sadler can't fund a Championship side or is happy as league 1 side then he needs to sell and quickly. I am hopeful he doesn't have your depressing outlook though and wants what the majority of us aspire to.

I thought that's what he got this season? He is the problem. I agree he will be manager here next season though, Sadler has backed himself into a corner and can't pot him or he'd look like a real Barry Bullshitter. Like I said in another post, there is no joy or personality at the club, it's grey, sterile and boring from the owner down to the manager and the players. What an opportunity wasted by Sadler.

Yes, you're right but I was also thinking that we don't have the weight of relegation hanging over us. Call it clutching at straws but we can start afresh and say to Critchley: "you succeeded first season, you kept us up second, you buggered off then you came back and didn't quite do it third time around. OK, let's clear the decks of all the attitude on-line, give you a clear run and see what you do." That's being very generous but perhaps that's how we should be.

I don't have a depressing outlook, that's your misunderstanding, I reckon. Football clubs have to aspire to do the best they can. We all want that. But at the same time, so do fans of many other clubs. I'm sure Stockport will compete well with us next season, with similar attendances, maybe bigger attendances. And will dream of cleaning moving up to the Prem like Luton. That's fine, as long as the fans don't see it as a birth right and start wanting heads to roll if they get stuck in League One for a while. Having hissy fits every time the team doesn't meet their expectations. Ranting into cyberspace during matches. 😉

I'd agree with that but is that because Critchley employs Champions League tactics withe League One players? Like putting a Fiat Uno in to a Grand Prix race and expecting a podium finish.
Great post ... but is the tactic of playing it about at the back, whilst no midfielders (or anybody further forward) shows for the ball, which then leads to panicky passing across the back five, culminating in someone giving Grimmy a hospital pass, so that just in time, he hoofs it upfield to our diminutive forwards, who then fail to control it, and lose possession, really Champions League football?

Good summary but it's worse than bland IMO. It's deadly boring, ineffective, passionless, lacking any guile or footballing intelligence. The players look void of any confidence, the movement is minimal and the passing standard atrocious. I find it hard to understand how it can be this poor when you train with the same players week in, week out.
I noticed the rust coming back in quite a few places whilst bored shitless during the game.
It was the closest I could get to watching paint dry.

The ☠ of ⚽ is happening before our very eyes😒

is that how you see it with us? Are you happy with the manager, his tactics, formations etc? Do you genuinely think we've had a go at trying to get promotion this season ? Has the manager aspired to do the best he can or do you think he's made an utter balls up of it? My view is the latter. Let's face it, McCarthy got the boot for getting it hopelessly wrong as did Appleton before him! And Grayson the one before Critch. What makes Critchley immune?

No that's not how I see it at all. I'm not happy with the manager and his tactics. I think he's aspired to be the best he can, but it hasn't been good enough. You are misinterpreting what I'm saying. I didn't say any of the things you are saying I said.

Fleetwood and Cambridge ? Six points ?? Oh, hold on, you have to score in order to win. I doubt if Pool will win either of them . Then, the Summer of Discontent will be upon us all. It is OBVIOUS that these lads are unhappy playing a back three. It’s fancy European stuff to their basic instincts. Pool do not, to my knowledge have the personnel the actually play a back four. A fundamental need, is a Left sided CH to team up with whoever. We haven’t had one since the Viking.

If the boat is not going to be pushed out this summer I suggest smart recruitment of some experienced players, and let’s give some of the kids a chance.
If I was Simon Sadler I would also want some commitments from NC (I assume he will still be in charge) to be more flexible in his tactics and formation as well as more considerate to the fans in terms of entertainment.
