Two very winnable matches ahead could put us higher up the league than those people
at the other end of the M55 it has been a longtime coming!

Yeah let’s put a mini run together hopefully, confidence must be on the up.
But let’s take it one game at a time. Anyone thinking any of this seasons 46 games will be easy, must be mad.

I said before the start of the month that I couldn't see anything out of Fulham, I hoped we'd pick up draws against Boro and Huddersfield but for me the two games that were the most important were Barnsley and Hull.

I'd be happy with 4 points now as 10 points from the month would be a superb effort and just give us a bit of a cushion going in to October which looks really hit and miss.

Dog eat dog league and not really much form from the bulk of the teams in this division until things settle a bit after Christmas. I think you could toss a coin for a lot of results. Fingers crossed we're starting to get to grips with this division - 8 points from 8 played is getting us back on track for staying up, fingers crossed.

No easy games. Fulham beat Huddersfield 5-1, we beat Fulham 1-0, Huddersfield beat us 3-0.

That sums up this division in a nutshell. Barnsley have a very good record against us. It’ll be a tough game. We had no Devine right to win a game in league one and certainly don’t in this league

Barnsley like us have eight points - 5 draws, one victory and only two defeats - so they are not an easy team to beat despite their points total.
They will be looking at our four defeats and thinking that this could well be their second victory this season. Likewise Hull will be eyeing our game as one they must win.
All the games at this level are going to be hard, but we can compete.

In terms of winnable games coming up...

Barnsley - draw
Hull - win
Blackburn - loss

Is probably the "most likely" outcome, and that would also be an outcome I would be very happy with!

Some unpredictable results in this division.
Reading beating Fulham, Forest at Huddersfield and Derby against Stoke.
Even Nobbers managed a point against WBA.

There is absolutely no point in predicting results. For a start , which Blackpool will turn up? Fulham go to Huddersfield and win 5-1. They come to Blackpool and lose1-0. Therefore Blackpool v Huddersfield will be a banker home win, which we all know was not the case. Barnsley were a play-off team last season and are therefore no mugs!

This Is the equivalent of “Your support is fuc…..etc.” being sung right before they score!

A nice thought but if we have learnt anything so far is how unpredictable our league is hope we win both but three points from those two matches would be ok and better than two draws

Barnsley is exactly the type of match we have been losing recently. They also surprised a lot of people last season. A toughened, wise Championship stalwart. We will need to be on it from the 1st whistle

If last year taught me anything, it’s we just don’t win the winnable game. Even this year, last 3 games we had Fulham, Huddersfield and Middlesbrough. And we highlighted Huddersfield as the winnable one.
