A few thoughts on today.
The game was played at Platt Lane which was of course Citeh's old training ground. The pitch was awful.
I didn't spot Chris Badlan, who was bigging up the Academy earlier in the week, and neither did I see Appy. Have a look guys if you get the chance.
Today was a perfect demonstration of what the Academy is about. League games are about development and there were kids playing today being played out of position to show their worth.
Bobby Bjork who had an excellent few games earlier in the season covering at RB for Kwaku Donkur, played in mid-field today, and demostrated how much he wants to be a professional footaller.
We seem to have an obession with diminutive tricky wings and we had another starting today, Jibran Ahmed. Great skills.
Kron Abdiou was another starter today. I had high hopes for him when I saw him at the start of last season but I've seen very little of him since. He startd today wide on the right today and made an excellent start by closing down a Salford defender, winning the ball, and creating the opportunity for Taylor Bowen to score. He's an extremely "cultured" footballer but needs to get more involved in the game. IMO he's not a RW.
Today also saw the return of Jake Daniels. Jake came on early in the 2nd half and played on the left wing. I see him as a classic no.10 but he did OK after such a long lay off.
Not a classic today but still an enjoyable 90+ mins of football.
