I hope it's not about comedians I want something juicer than that after all the kerfuffle. Everyone knows comedians behave like bastards anyway.
 
Katherine Ryan’s been talking about a very successful male British comedian who is apparently scum and will be found out, for a while now. Spidey sense says it’s gonna be that.

Russell Brand has already told us it’s him in a video last night. Or at least he is one of them if there are more. I thought it was him with the Kathryn Ryan allegations and apart from his YouTube stuff he seems to have been dropped from mainstream media for some time.
 

It's all a MSM conspiracy according to him because he is getting close to the truth.

There was some stuff in Private Eye a few years ago about his behaviour on set on something he was filming. It was really bad stuff from what I can recall and I disliked him since, I have never found him funny either. I was surprised that it didn't seem to affect his career at the time.

This is true regarding MSM Lala, but his reach on Youtube and Rumble (an alt right conspiracy platform) is huge.

Some 300,000 tune in to him daily to listen to his version of `reality`, and his following over Tik tok, Youtube, Instagram and Rumble is over 12 million.

He`s a serious player as an influencer with his alternative views on all the usual gubbins.

Plenty of people following him down his lucrative rabbit hole.

A charismatic but dangerous man...

Yes, very charismatic. I read his biography years ago. I think he is a deeply narcissistic personality.
The stunt he pulled on Radio 2 with Johnathan Ross was grossly disrespectful and I also have him down as a mysoginist, but I’m reading today that that’s been levelled at him before .

He wasn’t able to control Katy Perry and in the end dumped her by text even though they were married !!! She had a lucky escape, eventually. Strong women can be broken by insecure narcissistic men unfortunately.

It‘s going to be an interesting read/watch today. I thought at the time the Kathryn Ryan accusations were aimed at him and he was the first person I thought of when this news broke yesterday. Looks like he’s in full panic mode now.

I saw him described earlier as a Sachs offender.

He appears to be a deeply unpleasant individual.

experience at the time but regretted it later when they were sober.

I didn't say they turned him down , as both straight and lesbian women will have done this. But they are more likely to
feel offended by this.

In the same way that a straight man may feel more ackward if a male gay co-worker makes a pass at them rather than a female
co-worker.
 
All an 'expose' on Brand would achieve is to boost his... err... brand as in they're only coming after me because I tell the truth type stuff, it just adds grist to his mill. (What is grist I must look it up). I doubt there's anything we don't know already. I agree with much of what @Danny Ocean said some of us acted in a manner that today would get you labelled a predator but nobody batted an eyelid at the time. Ah well there's nothing like a moral outrage to stir up the Brits and the yanks come to that.

It could be my experience of 30 years as a DJ has given me a somewhat jaundiced view of life but I know this. The way people behaved back in the day looked at with your 21st century moral majority glasses on bears no relation to how people actually behaved, I saw it with my own eyes. And yes of course I acted in some ways because it was acceptable back then, the times changed and I changed with the. But what I don't do is excuse myself or pretend it didn't happen. There is no point, the past is a foreign country they do things differently there.

No and I get that. The times were very different. I think this will end up being slightly more serious than that, but we shall see.

It's actually less awkward to turn down advances from the same sex when you're not gay... because you're not gay. So you don't have to make up some shit like "I'm taken" etc. You can just say sorry, I'm not gay.

That really depends on how comfortable you are with the same sex making a pass, and how subtle the pass is. I knew someone
that was subjected to a wandering hand under the dividing cubicle wall in the works toilets, needless to say, it didn't go down well.

At least two of the alleged sexual offences apparently occurred in his house in Los Angeles. I am willing to bet he isn’t going to be travelling to the USA any time soon. Well, not voluntarily anyway. Will he be extradited?

I have no idea let the law take it's course. Has it occurred to you that such a fuss over these allegations has made a fair trial all but impossible? C4 should have turned all this 'information' over to the police first.

Perhaps they have, and got knocked back? No doubt we will have the Met forced to comment soon.
But it requires the alleged victim to make a formal complaint of the crime, especially in cases like this. The TV company evidence that they have gathered is hearsay.

One important aspect is that people who worked with Brand have said he is aggressive and intimidatory. One female comedian has said he actually bit her on the face in a club. One of the alleged victims has also said he made threats. Perhaps that is why she had not gone to the police. Yet. One of the women supporting the allegations in London has said she was only 16 at the time.
 
The woman in America went to rape crisis and didn’t want to press charges through stress and having her name dragged through the mud. Can’t have been in it for the ‘money’ as some mysoginistic knobheads would claim.

But it certainly points at it being ‘real’ the fact that she went and was examined and there is a text exchange where he more or less admits to it.

Apparently female comics in the business have been warning each other about him for years. It’s so clearly obvious he is a sexual predator and I wouldn’t be surprised if all the allegations are true.

Let’s hope the American lady can find the strength to drag him through the courts this time.

They haven't. this is what I struggle with I think Brand is an absolute raving right wing loon yet I defend due process for him. I can't count the number of ways I despise the man but this is obscene.

When there are multiple accusations over a multi year investigation period including contemporaneous notes and texts, corroboratory evidence from people he worked with, industry peers who have been sounding the alarm for years, yes people do tend to start seeing the allegations as credible. Most rape victims do not go to the police and it's not exactly hard to see why is it. One of the women who has come forward was a 16 year old child and here you are calling his behaviour normal stuff before you even knew what they are and calling her a pearl clutcher before you even read that she is saying he forced himself upon her and raped her.

Russell Brand is a currently free man who is not in jail and that is all 'innocent until proven guilty' has ever meant and will ever mean.
