"Former Blackpool defender Richard Keogh has left Wycombe Wanderers after agreeing to terminate his contract by mutual consent. The 37-year-old is being allowed to leave Adams Park to pursue new opportunities’ elsewhere." Now it may be a pipe dream and those in the know may have a different perspective on costs, qualifications and suitability but I would love to see Richard Keogh back at BR in some capacity. He is obviously a leader, loved by the fans (as was evident by the reception he received as a substitute warming up at Wycombe) and appreciated by Neil Critchley. Arguably also our decline coincided with his departure.

His experience was vital and definitely helped Marv develop.

If Critchley reckons he can offer something, whether it be as cover and impact on the training ground and in the dressing room - I for one would be delighted to see him back at Bloomfield Road. He’s been playing regularly in League 1 after all

Would think he's time is done up north now. We definitely had the best last full year of his career.

First couple of games when he was pointing at what everyone else should be doing and not doing it himself and you could see they were getting frustrated I thought it's going to be a shambles is this. But it worked quite well in the end. He's mastered the art of five sideways passes when one forward will do. Which suited the plan to eat up time and stay in games for longer in the championship. The best football Marv has played was alongside him because he took on all the shit jobs of pissing about at the back and just allowed him to react and defend danger, which is Marv's main strength.

Also thought he was good at being the club's PR machine when he was hanging about the hotel and got roped into things on camera. Made the club appear to be a bit more welcoming. There's been nobody like him since for that. It's rare you get someone who can connect with the fanbase in that way.

I'll add him to the list of former players we want to give jobs to. Yesterdays nomination was Seamus Coleman. Think the list must be pushing a hundred. Baffles me, why so many fans think that pretty much every former player of any note is worthy of a job. We are not a charity case for former players.

Makes me laugh that as well. Probably just because it's always gone on under Oyston as it was cheap labour and something to do for ex players who were still knocking about locally. Even now we've actually got Dobbie, Eardley & others in the youth set up who used to play for us. And would have probably still have John Murphy here too if he could have been arsed with his commute. And Simon Sadler has seemingly got the worlds smallest contacts book for ex managers to become the next one. So it's all people know when they think about support roles in the club.

Spot on, 20s

Hey, I'm merely interested from a short term perspective.
Consultancy opportunity if you will

No. It seems we reserve that for current players.

Time to let it go and move on, if we bring in another CH we should be looking at youth, we have Pennington, Casey and Marv and others who can fill in when required. He did a great job for us but that time has passed. Not sure we have a vacancy for another coach?

Dont care what age really, just want someone who takes the 'thinking' away from those either side. Someone that can read the game and command the defense.

Nice one 20s, made me chuckle.

And being serious of course you're right about us specifically. Just thinking wider about it though, and assuming UR intends to stay involved in the game in some way, some club is going to benefit hugely from his defensive awareness and organisation.

He does stand from the crowd of 100 as one of the few who could make a real difference and help defenders. Geography means that's never going to be us sadly, but I do think there's great benefit to whoever offers him an advisory role.

You beat me to it 20’s
Any coaching experience is irrelevant, the only criteria is that they we’re liked by the supporters.
