You all realise we’d be liquidated now without Sadler.

Bitching because some league 1 player chose to stay after we matched our record fee.

New multi million training complex on the way
Planned development to east stand
Huge investment in infrastructure

Wobble your heads you bunch of clowns, most of you don’t deserve Sadler.

Sadler hasn't received any criticism at all on here, the infrastructure and investment are brilliant, it's the football CEO who seems to be struggling at the moment.

There’s a balance though.

Fans should be allowed to point out grievances without being reminded of what a God Sadler is.

Fans are definitely allowed to be disappointed and confused tonight.

I am the happiest of clappers for this ownership - and I do think people have a right to question if the recruitment team are up to scratch after this window. I’d appreciate some communication from the Club as to what, if anything particular, has been going wrong in all these very public cases. I have a lot of confidence in SS and I I suspect he will at the very least be having some serious talks with the recruitment team after this window.

It's not the end of the world that Branagan has decided to spend the rest of his career in league one.
It’s not I agree but………….

Questions need to be asked why 2 players inside a week both chose league one football over a championship club.

Someone needs to be made accountable for this utter shambles.

For Bishop, I think there was a problem with the agent/player withholding key information about past injuries, etc.
The club didn't want to get bitten twice after what happened with Bez.

We pulled out on that deal, not the player.

For Brannagan, Oxford broke the bank to offer him twice the salary of our most paid player.

How would be be liquidated?

He didn't save the club, Infact he got a bit lucky being made the preferred bidder by the CAR

There were several other interested parties

So please explain??????

He doesn't strike me as a man who will just let a situation get worse.

I've said it all along, he doesn't have the money to own a football club.
He's got enough to build a new training ground from his own pocket and lob virtually our transfer record at a player.

I would imagine he has a shit ton more than Pilley for example, who has to punt out his training ground to the public to pay for it and that still seems to be working fine.

We don’t know anything about the other ‘interested party’ ??? Load of shit could have happened, look what a mess happened to derby and how, close they came, look a bury … May not have passed efl checks who knows.

End of the day SS has spent money out his own pocket, purchased the club, sorted a tonne of shit out, invested heavily on the infrastructure and there’s still goons like yourself moaning like a spoilt little kid at Christmas because Brannagan doesn’t fancy uprooting.

Man up
Move on
Support the club and players who want to be here.

But he's not moaning about Sadler?

I know exactly who the other bidders were and we got the best by a country mile.

Im ok with a player deciding we’re not for him, presuming that’s the reason. But of course we don’t know do we, we dont know a dammed thing. Show the fans some respect and tell us what’s going on. Nobody has a bad word to say about SS for the way he’s run the club. But something is wrong at the moment. I’m not saying it’s us, but again, we don’t know do we.

Yep exactly. Think it's the o/p who is the clown here. If Mansford was appointed by Sadler as the CEO then I'm sure he'll be wanting answers as to why so many deals are breaking down when it seems we are so close to them signing. .

Not a single person has criticised SS, so the o/p is way off the mark and has completely misread the situation.

If I was SS I’d want to know why our recruitment team and BM are consistently failing in their basic duties.
One person on this very thread has accused him of not having enough money to own a football club. That seems a little bit critical.

Especially when he’s come in, got us promoted with sound investment, sorted contracts before they become an issue, not when they run out like the old lot, kept us up, revitalised the stadium, spent hundreds of grand on revitalising squires gate while buying land and putting wheels in motion for a new training complex, progressing the east, decent fees for players like Gabriel on long contracts, 7-figure fees agreed for players, commercial partnerships done professionally… apart from that, what have the romans ever done for us 😏

Yes, we know all this, there's still a question to be asked though.

You haven't explained how we would have been liquidated

Perhaps because they don't make good business sense?

All the ball's were firmly in Brannigan Agent's hand. Agents are ****s. That's their job. The only defence you have on the buyer side is to have firmly established boundaries before you enter into negotiations. The Agent pushes it, whilst speaking to the parent club on the phone, and you either twist or fold.

There is a long line of those who gambled. That is not the way SS will run this club, and I a glad about that. If the player didn't want to be part of BFC's future, then bye bye ... hope you enjoy the windswept 3 sided ground. It's grim.

We have been played by a player and agent who never had any intention of signing fir us. You can't blame Mansford for not knowing they were lying through there teeth. Sneaky bustards.

Agree with paras 1 and 2 but not 3

Brannigan could have gone to a championship club

He’s the main man at a league 1 club and chose to stay there .

Yes, we know all this, there's still a question to be asked though.
Respectfully, we don’t all know all this - some of us do, but it took less than 20 minutes on this thread alone for the opinion to be voiced that he’s not rich enough. I have no problem with asking questions about our recruitment, there have been some sorry episodes no doubt, but until I see evidence of Sadler not putting the club first, I’ll be first in line of the happy clappers who defend his approach!

Mansford I have no idea, might be good might be useless, I just don’t have enough info. I would say the brannagan affair feels to me like the club did little wrong; they bid a substantial fee for a player, sounds like wages were agreed, didn’t leak our side clearly, yet we’re left with egg on our faces when Oxford have made an unsustainable wage offer. I feel we were played by an agent.

I'm not sure that you get that close to so many deals being completed before realising it doesn't make good business sense. However, as fans we need to now move on. But my point was about Sadler wondering why it seemed to be happening too often. Especially when these "signings" were out in the public domain.

Maybe if it happened once, but to consistently fail - it doesn’t stack up. Their job is to get it over the line and make it happen, not to be played like a fool.

But he's not moaning about Sadler?
Hard to tell really . He does seem to moan about nearly everything and everyone. Not always easy to spot who he supports . Although he does seem to support Mr. Appleton but primarily because hed moaned himself to a standstill over Mr Critch :)

It's more a case of why we were back in for him I suppose, Mansford says there's a 'process' identifying targets, which Brannagan clearly wasn't part of earlier this summer.

The key is in ‘the player is at the club to complete a medical and agree terms’ leaked by the agent no doubt.

Then the ‘terms’ change as they have a habit of doing with agents. Believe me, I work with them!!!!

It would help with any transfers if there was a media blackout by both parties until the deal is signed and sealed, this would cut out all this will he won’t he crap. However clubs / agents use it as a way of creating a bidding war so will probably never happen.
