Appoint a league one manager that most fans don't like, end up in league one. Not exactly a shock is it? What an appalling appointment. Should then have gone after Wigan so we had enough time to appoint a proper manager like Rob Edwards, and not a panic appointment like McCarthy. The decision making has been absolutely appalling.
 
First 2 correct of Herts I agree with, we all do.

Not the third. Dobbie has done a good job but it’s not the same as a full season where if we start poorly people will be going “inexperienced manager, why did we appoint him”.

Please can we just get in a young up and coming manager with experience of managing successfully in leagues 1 or 2 with NO connection to the club.

Anyway I am off like the previous poster to feel shit and be appalling company. And that’s even though the last couple of months has been relegation by a thousand cuts.

We don't do mediocrity like other teams, Many seasons it's either a promotion push or a relegation dog fight. Tonight is one of our low points, and over the years I have been a Seasider there have been plenty of them. But, there have also been amazing times and unbelievable highs. Tonight we are all feeling the hurt but with relegation now confirmed the slate is clean and we go again. We are Blackpool, we WILL be back.

Dobbie has done well but we need someone else to lead the team, an experienced manager who’s had success in league 1/2. We need to get some actual proven quality through the door and not go for hidden gems.

if the fans stick together then we’ll bounce up in no time, we just need to have a summer that will galvanise the club - like when the Oystons left.

Obvs pissed off at moment, but as I’ve always said being a Pool fan there’s never a dull moment whether it’s on the pitch or off it! UTMP!

No, Fiorini has been a great player for us this season. The ref gave an easy penalty against him, but then he did give an easy pen to us . the result I am afraid would be as is. All this hurts , but the damage was done long before Fiorini was trying to do his job. Omergod we go again.UTMP

it was a stupid tackle with the player stretching and going away from goal.In such precarious situations brain needs to be switched on in those moments.

Agreed Herts. The writing was on the wall the minute Appleton was appointed. He was never right for this football club and neither was McCarthy. The pair of them have ripped the heart out of these players with their negativity. This team was more than capable of decent attacking football. Not saying we were good enough to mount a play off challenge but we should have been nowhere near relegation. We can bounce back and we need to start right now. I want to see a real clearout starting with Mansford, followed by all the players who are so injury prone they are of no use to us. Give the job to Dobbie and bring in Thommo in some capacity. Rebuild the team with decent players who carry some bulk and aren't brushed off the ball so easily. Finally, and something I haven't seen for a very long time, get a real team captain who makes his presence on the pitch felt.

Pretty much sums it up for me.
 
I don’t want see Husband playing Centre Half in League One, Nevermind the Championship. I don’t want to see kids in midfield chasing shadows, I don’t want to see managers that have no connection with the fans. I want to see us being competitive and actually buying into what the club are doing.

A pathetic mismanaged season. Act in the same way next season and this time next year we will be discussing another relegation.
 
Don't care if it was Appleton or McCarthy but under both managers the bottom line is the players haven't been good enough for this division. How many games have we batterd the opposition and had golden opportunities in the first 20 minutes of games only to concede from the opponents first meaningful full attack?.
Love Jerry to bits but top championship and premier strikers don't need extra touches to get shots off and score goals. However not just accusing Jerry of this but every Blackpool player with a goal scoring opportunity in the box seems to need an extra touch or drag to another foot. Even tonight on more than one occasion it happened.
Think it's going to be a long,long time before we see championship football again..
