US Open

Second major of the year.

Who's going to win it?

Viktor Hovland for me.
Just watched Fitzpatrick documentary on his win last year, superb.
Shot on 18 from the bunker amazing.

I’ll go Mcllroy, surely he’s got to win another major.

Cannot wait to see this.

Boy would I like Rory to win after his week of being hung out to dry alas I don't think he will. He's in contention most Sunday's but just seems to have lost that winning feeling.

The course is going to be an absolute beast. Rock hard fairways and greens, savage rough apparently in typical US Open fashion.

Almost impossible to pick a winner. It's going to be someone that is very very steady.

Justin Rose, Scotty Scheffller (as always), Corey Conners, Matt Fitzpatrick would be four steady types to stay in contention. I never really look at a bet until Friday night. See who's made the cut and still great value available.

Great post👏
So many players can win, talent off the scale

I've had a speculative bet on the Austrian golfer Sepp Straka. Has some good form and plays well in Majors. Well overpriced at 250\1 each way 8 places, with Bet365. Plus 25% bonus on US Open singles. So I got 312\1 which is frankly insulting.

I've gone for Justin Thomas just because I thought 45/1 was too big a price on bet 365 plus there is a 25% boost

Also tommy fleetwood is evens to make the cut..... That's a good price

I just walked down to Red Rocks Marsh nature reserve which is bang on the border of the RLGC Hoylake. If this weather keeps up the winner will do a Tiger 2005 and finish ridiculously under par.

What a good bet, he’ll be thinking of winning the event

Jack Nicklaus once said he found the majors easier to win because so many are negatively affected by the greater pressure and you see that every year so three that seem to cope well with the pressure are Scheffler ,Koepka, and Rahm .Maybe of ours Hatton`s in form and might do well.

I don`t fancy McIlroy ,Fleetwood or Hovland.

Cam Smith or Patrick Cantlay if I were to have an each way gamble

Rory’s due one
Yes as well as the three I mention above Smith and Cantlay could well be in the shake up.

As I said above I don`t fancy McIlroy who regularly gets his knickers in a twist in these. His best chance would be if he was seemingly out of contention, pressure off and then he`s capable of shooting t a very low last round,

He's won four majors, four more than most. Knickers in a twist and some call him a bottler. Not saying he going to win this but he is one of the best in the world.

Fowler and Rory are both still up there and playing ok. I'd be happy to see either win. BTW, what is it with American golf crowds? Talk about imbecilic. I bet 100 percent of the in the hole/mashed potato brigade voted for Trump. Mind bogglingly stupid 🙄

We’re getting a thriller now!
However, I can’t see me staying awake. 3am+ finish but with Rory still in the mix I’ll give it a try.

All set for an exciting final round. Obviously I'd like Rory to win but if he can't do the business and it has to be a Yank, I hope Fowler can claim his first major. A likeable lad and great player, plus he will probably be wearing tangerine.
Not quite tangerine. He’s a Texan, through and through and orange is the state colour but, yes, I’d agree with you.
Can’t remember WHO, on here, told me that Rory would never win another major. (Pretty sure it wasn’t you.)
Go on Rory. You do it.

It 100% wasn't myself, I have no doubt he has the game to win a couple more majors, maybe starting today.

Fowler wears the orange because it was his college colours from Oklahoma St.

Would love Rory or Rickie to win but could see Scottie coming from behind.

I’ve had to look it up.
You are right. Born in California, went to Oklahoma Uni - American Football team colour - orange.

You've never fancied McIlroy 50's🤣😉

I’m a lucky boy currently in Norway playing for the UK team in the European Seniors Masters team championship.
Great being old but still able to be competitive!
Unfortunately I cannot get Sky over here and anyway on the tee at 8:00 am tomorrow for a practise round.
Hoping Rory brings home the bacon but if not Rickie Fowler after what he’s been through with his golf.
Missing the bloody cricket too 😠

Schefflers atomic finish last evening gives him the momentum and edge I believe.

Watching the history of this course on YouTube earlier and it appears the founder of the course was a bloke named Fowler. Is it meant to be for Rickie after such a wait for his first Major.

Would be fun to see Tom Kim go on a tear again like yesterday. Might put the wind up some of them. Think I will get him in my notebook for Hoylake along with Fowler. Third there in 2014.

Front 9 seems to be the best scoring of the 9s. I expect someone to go 2 clear at the turn and then they gotta hold the lead. Excellent course too.

How can you have a 275 yardpar three? I can't hit it that far with my dodgy knee 🤔🤣
Would love Rorybor Fowler to do it but I think Scheffler could well nick it. Some player.

If we’re at a golf tournament and was close to any seppo shouting the absurdities that they do I would be compelled to demand an explanation, it ** infuriates me beyond belief😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

I’m fancying Rory may well do it tonight 🤞

This is the 1st major where I've not bothered with the first 3 rounds!!!

It's certainly an open where anyone in that top 6 could win although it could be a step too far for Clark and Nagano.

Don't think I'll be stopping up 'til daft o clock to watch it as me n the Mrs are away in the morning, unless Rory holds my attention 😉

Fowler falling apart. English has also plummeted down the leaderboard.

Clark going well.

If Rory keeps his nerve he'll win this.
