Used engine advice

I wouldn't know mate, I have no knowledge on replacement engines.
As a lot of people have already stated, it would cost a fair amount to have the work done, then it could just become a money pit?
My guess is that mountings will be the same, or at least easily adaptable, across the range, and probably the whole PSA group, so in theory it ought to be possible, but I don't know for sure.

Buy a salvaged low mileage example of a bombproof engine that fits, get an independent garage to install it, probably out the door for ~£1,500, depending upon the condition of the rest of the car it might just be worth it.

Edit:

for the OP, it might be worth a search on a specialist forum for the answer, maybe even register and start a thread.

Good job it’s not a EV battery as I heard a quote of £25,000 yes £25,000 for a car battery.
Most EV's come with an 8 year 100,000 mile warranty which would be new for old free in the event of it falling to less than 70% efficiency. What model was the 25k quote for? At a quick glance I found a list of prices for a new battery and almost all were less than £10k plus fitting on top, e.g. Porsche Taycan £7,756.

I can’t remember what make possibly a Tesla but a work colleague said he been offered the car & it wasn’t that old but had about 95k on the clock & they only wanted £15k for it. But the battery was in need of replacing & that’s where the £25k cost came in. He of course could have been talking bollocks, but he is usually ok. 🤔

Fair enough. It's not something I'd worry too much about. Tesla are bloody fabulous cars too, borrowed a model 3 performance the other day, and it was totally bonkers 😁

My missus has a DS3, within months of buying it the engine went bang, fortunately under warranty.

Told her not to buy French, would she listen? thought it looked pretty.
