Whereas it was seemingly obvious that the lino got it wrong there was a bit more to it than just the lines used by VAR. I am sure if you've seen the incident that it is clear that the line drawn shows the players feet were onside, the VAR technology line seemingly couldnt go through the WBA players body that was offside to show that the other WBA players body was onside. So the VAR official couldn't state with 100% certainty that the lino got it wrong although it seemed pretty obvious he did. And that's why the VAR official had to stick with the lino's call.Over the weekend they can decide someone is offside by millimetres. Tonight the lino gets it wrong and flags and VAR go with him rather than the lines.

Wouldn't have happened with our very own shadow linesman, as demonstrated at Rochdale away last season... mimicking and pressuring the linesman and keeping them honest so they don't make mistakes in the first place.
