I’ll leave what I feel or think about todays news for another time, what I can’t leave for another day is the fact I had to tell my boy whose 12 during his football training that the man he looked up to and thought so much of has walked away from our great club.
He was visibly shacken and upset by the news, holding back the tears so his mates who aren’t Blackpool fanatics didn’t see.
“What are we going to do”, he asked.
For once I didn’t have any answers to make it ok.
Just for that and all the other young lads and girls who feel let down, I hope the money makes you happy Mr Critchley.
Empty jestures, promises, kissing the badge!!!, I’ll never trust any manager again.
Very, very sad.

They’ll be reet….it’s character building. I remember stamping on the Gazette when we sold Morrison to fkin Udders and then later ending up at Man City….hastening our demise to being also rans once more. Look what’s happened since! Up the Pool Keep the Faith!

Agreed, I felt the same, but to see your son hold back the tears for a man who holds hero status in his eyes is heartbreaking.
He knows how football works and understands people have to make a better life for their families, but this just doesn’t make any sense in his eyes or mine.
Money talkes, but it’s a long way back from a failed number 2.

Critch has let a lot of people down IMHO for the pursuit of self ambition. Now, of course, the other side to this is we might have had a shocking start to the season, been bottom in November and he might have been sacked but I get the feeling he has really pissed all over Sadler and the fan’s loyalty.

Has he let anyone down? This is football and there's no loyalty when better money or career prospects are offered, he's ambitious as most people in football are, get over it. In the same situation, you'd have done exactly the same.

Good post. I'm old enough to be the lads grandad but I agree with you that this is very dispiriting. It's always easy to be a know all and say there's no loyalty in football but this time I really thought Sadler and Critchley were seriously breaking the mould with a new approach to football that could put shallow greed to one side. No, I never expected Critchley to be with us forever but I expected a good five years through which to re-establish our Club on a firm course to being a top Championship side. This is a kick in the guts to an older guy who might know better - if I wanted to be cynical to be cool. But I really thought, this time we might rewrite the way football works. Nah just the same old shit. It's new to your lad to see how shit adults can be. I hope it informs him for the better.

He will get over it, and sooner than you think, especially when we start the season afresh.
I don’t think any of you guys should pin so much on loyalty.
I’ve long said expectations are the root of all evil. You can have hopes, standards and aims but expectations are what will finish you off.
Chin up, distraction techniques and all that for now 👍

I’m old enough to be the lad’s great grandad and I feel just as let down but I agree with your post 66. I will obviously still support the club but I will never again be as invested as I was in the project and what Critchley was forever telling us was along term plan. I now think his idea of long term and ours were two different things.

Well why should kids of today get all the excitement and fun which comes of being a Blackpool fan these days - I grew up in the 80’s when it was as miserable as sin - about time they knew what it’s like to be a true football fan 😉

HahahahahHahahahhahahahahahahaha
I see Critchleyisgod has a new user name. His impression of a hyena isn’t that plausible or perhaps he needs to have that stammer seen to.By the way Guests are supposed to be invited so why are you on here……again,
I told you before that you have an unhealthy obsession for the Mighty for a so called Knobber….oh and I did suggest your new username should be Tnucnotserp, you should use that as it’s far more appropriate.

There's still a long term plan. It just doesn't involve Critchley .
I thought I'd never get my addiction to football back after the Oyston cold turkey years. But I did.
Managers leave for what they see as better jobs . They get replaced. It happens. Not just in football, in all walks of life.

I appreciate what you are saying and don’t disagree. The point about Critchley’s departure was all the bull💩 about a long term project, fist pumping, best fans in the league, terrific owner etc etc. Then the first time anyone comes sniffing all that goes out of the window, I don’t blame anyone for improving their situation, its the way he did it.

Agree with all of that. The most important thing in all this is Simon Sadler's ambition to build an infrastructure and a legacy that stretches ahead. Staff, like players, will come and go, and in many ways any institution benefits from that. Change creates opportunities, and as long as we have a committed and invested owner, as we do, the future is bright.

I feel as let down as you do. But then I think, well, all the fist pumping and enthusiasm about the project is part of the job isn't it. It kept us fans, the clients, happy for two years. He wasn't lying when he said we're the best fans in the league either. We know we are because of feedback from other clubs fans. SSs plan is still on track. That's the plan that matters. Managers can be replaced. As long as the next one has the same work rate and enthusiasm we'll be ok.
