Great performance against one of the best teams In Europe and a team that would be top four English premier league 👍🏻 They were head and shoulders above but we did pass well when we had the ball, we won’t face any team as good as rangers in the championship so yep the only way us up 👍🏻

There’s not a chance their side would be top 4 in the premier league.
 
Can’t agree more that was a very good performance and Josh Bowler stood out for purely for his tracking back which is his downfall👏👏

We look crap going forward, no final pass yet again.

Gifted rangers the first goal and didn't track a simple ball for the 2nd.
 
We're short of quality in key areas, and foremost, we desperately need a DJ or a Bret - strikers who instinctively know how to hit the net, but they're so hard to come by.
The Holloway era team were a special bunch of players, with no super stars and they didn't cost a fortune.
Will we ever replicate those guys, without spending fortunes?

They are no way top 4 in the prem or even a premier league team. They are at best a top half Championship team and in the first half we more than matched them. It’s also worth remembering that in the first half they played their first choice and strongest 11 we on the other hand played probably 60% of our first choice team. Second half was much in the same vein as the first upto there wholesale changes. Their first goal came from Bowler pissing about on the edge of the box and with all the changes the game didn’t have the fluency. Even at 2-0 down we hung in and deserved the goal, loads of positives and yet we are nowhere near where Appleton wants us to be (his words) so how much better will we be then? The errors today are exactly what pre season games are all about and will no doubt be worked on before the season starts.

Are they bollocks one of the best teams in Europe, they couldn't even make it to the first round of the Champions League.
 
I saw most of the game and Rangers hardly gave us a kick. Davis was the puppetmaster.

It was a friendly, we move on.

Davis only came on for the second half. We did ok. They were better on the ball than us, they had men in spaces who were comfortable to receive and pass the ball but in the first half they created very little and we had more half chances..Second half they were much the better team but overall about the right result. We are still sadly lacking for that creative talent and there was still too much passing backwards. Only threat from us came from Bowler. CJ was poor because he is poor at this level. And Madine was easily controlled and barely got in the game. Apter miles of being what we need at full back.Thought Connelly did well at right back and others did ok.

Rangers pretty much put out a very strong team and you don't get to a EUFA final if you are a bad team. Wouldn't say they are anything like a top 4 PL team but they would survive comfortably in our PL.

To add 20s that Bowlers tracking back today was much better

Apter isn’t a full back, he’s not even a defender. He was filling in and for his age, lack of experience and being out of position I thought he did remarkably well.

First goal I think you can say cock up . The second I don't think that was pools fault as they defended well and the ball was hit first time by a bloke outside the box who caught it sweetly.

Couldn’t agree more
madine not good enough I said it all last season
No pace, can’t hold the ball up to help to link the midfield need a striker as goals will be the problem this season

Hesitation from Josh and a lack of coming to block the ball from anyone else.

You need to think fast we didn't, most our shots end up blocked because we're predictable and take too many often bad touches first.

I was talking about the team Blackpool played on Saturday not one that may or may not arise in one of an infinite number of potential futures. And besides, you could make the same statement about pretty much any club in the top half of the Championship.
