Villa v Chelsea

Villa already 1 down after Tyrone Mings has just dropped a clanger in front of Gareth Southgate.
What struck me at the start though was Steven Gerrard shaking hands with Graham Potter and the two managers. One who's had every advantage going to make it as a coach and a pre determined easy path and the other who was given nothing and has had to fight tooth and nail for everything. And the other one is at the bigger club.
Critchley and Gerrard can't be far from a p45.

They’ve not exactly set the premier league on fire have they? Villa don’t look a patch on last season. Saying that, how those 3 attempts didn’t go in!
They’re on borrowed time if they lose this

I think it’s been a gig too early for Gerrard.
Rangers is one thing - that was a great career move as the club was on the rise and he rode it a treat.

He may have been better served as Number 2 at Liverpool instead of Villa

Why do people think PL stars will automatically make good managers? I would think looking back over history there have been far more failures than successes. The best managers as the OP points out are the ones with experience outside of the entitlement bubble.
