Warning of beer shortages. (Not football but here we go).

Why is it so difficult to get an HGV license?
And so expensive...

Is it just more burocracy?

I understand that standards have to be met but surely not all the faffing around that it takes is actually needed...

They haven't been able to take the examination as test centre's have been closed you only have to see how long it takes to get a driving test you'd be lucky to get it done before the year is out!

A lot of European drivers went home also when the pandemic kicked in also to be with family.

Fair enough. I suppose the pinging thing doesn't help either. I've just done 10 days after working in a hospital in full PPE.

Yep and the story of the Doctor who walked passed a Covid ward and got pinged same again 10 days off utter madness you only have to witness the empty shelves in supermarkets to see this.

I have supported BJ through this pandemic but they are now getting into a bit of a mess.
I went out for a pint last night and NOBODY is wearing masks at all. I know you don't have to now but surely common sense tells you it's the right thing to do!
I was repeatedly asked why I was wearing mine at the bar and in the toilet, "for my own safety" was the reply.

The app actually tells you that you should turn it off in situations like that. It literally says healthcare workers in hospitals should not use it.

The people getting all macho about it are weird to me. It's like going up to someone and going "why are you wearing jeans not shorts"

What the fuck has it got to do with them?

Tbh I had the app from the word go and like many others had it turned on the whole time, ignorant of the fact it should have been off in certain situations.
I had it on the last time I worked at the hospital but bizzarly didn't get pinged.
I only work there for one day every 3 months so had no idea...

I never got that logic inside a pub at some point you have to take your mask off to drink if someone on the next table has Covid coughs, laughs etc it's going to spread.

Indeed.
I wear a dust mask at work and nobody questions that as they all know the dangers of asbestos/silica and dust....I just think this is the same.

I get that but as I said, it's for my protection. I also try to keep out of other folks way, sit away from folk etc. It's just a case of do what you can in my opinion, not what you can't.

There’s been a shortage for years. One of the reasons used to be the low wages paid, and a lot of people don’t like being away from home for long periods and driving on our congested roads.

I think ultimately the government know future lockdowns aren’t viable economically and would not be a vote winner either.
So, I think they’ve decided to let us get on with herd immunity now, and how quickly or slowly and how many fatalities that brings is largely down to how we behave.
I don’t necessarily think that’s passing the buck as such either. I think they have little choice left and now we have millions double vaccinated it seems the best route to take at the best time.
Mask wearing may or may not play a significant part in how quickly we achieve herd immunity and how much or how little carnage is created along the way health wise.

I’m wearing a mask in situations where my personal safe space seems particularly crowded, otherwise I’m not. In the main I’m not.

Vg post. 👍

If the 40% includes the delivery of Fosters. Then in reality it only affects 30% of beer deliveries.🤮
Yes. If it includes Carling, Carlsberg and John Smiths deliveries there is nothing to worry about apart from those who drink that crap learning there is much, much better out there. 🍻

It’s a bit hard drinking a pint with your mask on or having a fag😷
