We will remember them

Hard to argue against what you said, as I guess many didn’t have a choice.

But my god, I respect and remember them!
I think the choice was to fight for what we've now got or to bow down to a mad dictator.
God help us if it ever happened again , as anything and everything is questioned before a decision takes place 😕

Listening to a really good book at the moment called ‘First Light’ by Geoffrey Wellum. Think there was a BBC series based on it but I never saw it. He was a fighter pilot. Only half way through but highly recommend so far if anyone hasn’t read/listened to it.

Remarkable what the pilots of WW2 went through on both sides. Some horrific moments, incredible bravery and sacrifice.
 
I think of my dad a lot but always on this day. He was a Sergeant pilot on Lancasters. Luckily for me I expect, he was too young to see much active service, but when you hear what Bomber Command went through to help keep us free it is absolutely gripping. We will remember them. Always.

The non-commissioned ranks who flew in both fighter and bomber command didn't get enough recognition.
