Perhaps so but they were ‘incredibly’ brave though. It never fails to astonish me when I see footage of them climbing up the ladders, emerging from the trench and running into ‘hell.’To be fair One I think that bravery was thrust upon them.
The non-commissioned ranks who flew in both fighter and bomber command didn't get enough recognition.I think of my dad a lot but always on this day. He was a Sergeant pilot on Lancasters. Luckily for me I expect, he was too young to see much active service, but when you hear what Bomber Command went through to help keep us free it is absolutely gripping. We will remember them. Always.
