Well done Critch

Prior to signing for Blackpool Rhodes had scored 15 in 3 years, Madine had 23. Yates was twice the player when playing along side Madine.

Would you have Madine or Beesley? In League 1
In 2023/24 which is now, Beesley, ideally neither of them.
Why would you want to bring Madine back, there will be big centre forwards under the age of 30 in none league that would be a better option than cuprinol man.

Credit where it's due. I was critical of his subs at Charlton but today's made a real difference to the game and got us a decent point.

Questions now about who starts and who finishes. Can Dembele be as effective as a starter? Same for Lavery compared to Kouassi.

Good point though and deserved over 90+ mins.
Carey was ineffective
Pretty sure 99% on here would've said the same about Rhodes when he signed
Good result. Carey was ineffective as usual

In fairness to Carey, it also passed O-B by and for 50-55 mins we were ineffective. We improved initially with Dale getting on the ball on the right side further up the pitch and then gradually built pressure as they tired and had nothing new to offer.
We generally kept them at bay in the first half, we were wasteful in possession but I can't remember any other chances they had other than the goal. We broke a few times and at the heart of those breaks driving forward was OB.
The first half was attritional, Oxford had a plan and were neat and tidy but we matched them defensively.
If there's any criticism it's we gave them too much time to play. Don't think there was a bad performance today, maybe not the very best from some but more than competent from the whole team.

Absolute rubbish. We were shocking up until the substitutions. At half time we had zero shots and zero corners. It was very poor and that's being kind. That said, Critchley made some good subs and we looked better for it.
For context, listened to Radio Oxford on the way home, they reckoned that first half was some of the best football Oxford have played this season. Second half they said they defended really well against a decent team who upped the tempo when their subs came on. They also said that they thought we might go on and get the winner.

fact is that for 75 minutes it was very poor. Who is that down to if not Critchley?
1st half they were the better side. We were too cautious.
2nd half we were by far the better side. As good as they were in the 1st half we were more than that in the second.
We should have had a penalty and on another day Rhodes is scoring a hat trick

Coward ha.

Critchley spelt it out for you with his subs but if still struggling and just for you, Kouassi and Carey.
You'd have been the first to complain had Kouassi not started.
As for Carey, I understand that. The thing is, and I have this on good authority, his stats, despite how it looks to us mere mortals suggest he's doing everything asked of him.
He's just the whipping boy at the moment.

I'm not blaming Carey, I'm just saying he's not impacting games as he should.
There's no denying that the midfield 3 were totally ineffective in the first half and it was pretty much Kenny playing on his own at times. The second half saw us playing more proactively and further up the pitch and the introduction of Dembele and Morgan made a clear difference.

Two more forward thinking players.
Re Joseph, no one knows what type of player he is. Is he a Lavery a Madine a Rhodes?
From memory the last time he played (Derby away in a cup game) he was a wide man....
Carey is putting a shift in, that's not in question. He's breaking up play but his end product just isn't there currently.
I do think he will come good though.
