Well done Critch

Credit where it's due. I was critical of his subs at Charlton but today's made a real difference to the game and got us a decent point.

Questions now about who starts and who finishes. Can Dembele be as effective as a starter? Same for Lavery compared to Kouassi.

Good point though and deserved over 90+ mins.
Credit? Seriously? He faffed around and left the substitutions for too late. It was readily apparent at half time that our tactics and team selection weren't working but it took our elite coaching genius* another 25 minutes to realise that. If we make the change earlier, Oxford were there for the taking. Today, it feels like we've lost two points rather than gained a point and that's inexcusable

I've always backed Crotch, but today I felt his performance bordered on the incompetent.

*He has a badge to prove he's an elite coach but based on today I do wonder whether his badge is from UEFA or Blue Peter

Easy to say in hindsight but the team that started would have lost that. It just wasn't good enough without mentioning names.

No. It means that the subs made a difference playing a slightly different formation against tiring opposition.

Having said that, yet again the game passed Carey by. Solve the third midfielder conundrum (with Dougall and Norburn) and we'll be a real force.
In fairness to Carey, it also passed O-B by and for 50-55 mins we were ineffective. We improved initially with Dale getting on the ball on the right side further up the pitch and then gradually built pressure as they tired and had nothing new to offer.

Personally, they were 10 minutes late. It’s a great draw but that Oxford side were there for the taking after 65 minutes. They slowed down massively.

Too negative an approach for me.

I can’t complain about the starting eleven as it was a winning side bar the obvious Norburn swap, the subs worked and credit where due is given. Possibly could of been earlier?
Now we possibly need to swap Carey for a more forward thinking player possibly Dembele ? Would that leave us too light in midfield though🤷‍♂️.

Enjoyed the game, especially the second half where we pushed them back and looked the better of two good teams. Whoever has been coaching Husband has been doing a hell of a job because he seems twice the player he was over the past couple of seasons, measured, confident and talking all the time across the back line, class act on today’s showing.

I suppose that’s what having a top coach brings you.

Agree. Husband is looking far fitter and sharper than previous seasons.

No, because Carey doesn't tackle, head the ball, pass well, assist or score.
Dembele has strengths, Carey has none.
Dougall and Carey with Dembele behind front 2 will cause problems, Carey starting only causes problems for us!
Kouassi should start games, give it all he's got, make space for Rhodes and rag defenders around a bit, Lavery comes on around 70 and does what he did today.

Husbands best position has always been left of a back 3, not quite a centre back, not quite a full back, left of back 3 perfect for him.

Today's first half display cannot be blamed solely on Carey's young shoulders.
It is Critchley's job to prepare and instruct the.team, so for me that was totally on him.

Enjoyed it , great result, no moaning though we need to be more positive throughout the game. I think we lack an outstanding attacking midfield player.. Would be good if we could somehow fit Dembele in from the start.

We need Kyle Joseph back and to keep our fingers crossed he is a success. In the meantime, Lavery and Rhodes should start next game.

There’s definitely some clueless clowns on here.
They’re the one’s having knee jerk reactions going 1-0 down at the team second in the league.
Excellent tactics from Critch today, glad he’s ours and not some of the muppets posting on here during the match 🙈
Exactly ** Idiots

Absolute rubbish. We were shocking up until the substitutions. At half time we had zero shots and zero corners. It was very poor and that's being kind. That said, Critchley made some good subs and we looked better for it.
