West Ham fans

They seem to be getting up a bit of a head of steam with their protests ; and they face dilemmas that seem very familiar to us. Except a court case isn't likely to come along to help them anytime soon.

The owners are roundly loathed, Karren Brady under fire for taking a pay increase of close to quarter of a million last year, fans fearful of relegation and what that might do to their business model and lamenting the loss of their "proper" stadium.

Maybe that play-off win in 2012 was a curse, rather than a blessing.

Well it didn’t do us much good following that defeat what was it 2 relegations in 3 seasons and the birth of NAPM/Boycotts.

The Hammers United movement does appear to be gaining some traction eh Robbie? See the club banned a fan for wearing a GSB Out T shirt

For me historically West Ham have always been a yo yo side between the two divisions and their format (if you like) was to bring through young East End players, but with the establishment of the PL that seems to have changed and they didn't have the infrastructure to compete on a regular basis. What Gold and Sullivan have tried to do is expand that by simply moving to a huge stadium but its too fast and they haven't bothered growing the fanbase, which is what Liverpool and Man Poo have done for generations.
Its what Dirty did in the 70s to a degree but its something that Everton have avoided, and the latter would probably be the model that the 'ammers should have followed.

They say cheats never prosper, and they certainly did cheat us.
I’ve tried to blank that day out but I don’t remember them cheating. I remember us missing loads of chances on the day and Howard Webb giving them every call, but no real cheating

Wouldn't it be just perfect to see them relegated and then have to play run of the mill Championship games in the Olympic Stadium.

I find myself indifferent to their plight, I have moved on from 2012, before then I quite like visiting Upton Park and never had any issues there.
I did, however, have a giggle at the debate on talksport over the banned fan, some people saying he was a hooligan no he should support the team, others supporting him and saying that they just need to get rid of the owners. Sound familiar!
Seems they might have mushrooms growing around the Olympic Stadium 🥰

Going to Upton Park was always a bit edgy, especially for a night game. Tight ground, cover your colours and keep quiet type of place. The crowd would be typical east end folk, tough as nails with a "no one likes us" manner similar to their "friends" from Wall. What GSB did was to rip all that up in the name of progression (oh yeah) and place it in the sanitised popcorn bowl that is the OS thus destroying the very background of the club.. It's gonna come back and bit them on the arse.

Or maybe the defeat was a catalyst for the change of owner.

It absolutely was, best thing that ever happened to the club in hindsight.

I used to like Upton Park, good place to drink and lots of places to get really good food. Don't like there fans though so would be delighted if they dropped a couple of leagues. Moving stadium was a big mistake for them.

I'd luv it if they got relegated. Luv it! 😁

If they started a proper NAPM campaign I'd offer token support when we meet them in the Championship. But they won't make progress until they get rid of their owners.
