West Park Drive and Central Drive Roadworks

Definately nobody been working on the George pub since the day they put the scaffolding up. You’d think the council would be on to whoever owns the pub to get things moving to repair etc
 
There are whole swathes of the town that need clearing and replacing with more modern housing and commercial outlets. Many of them properties around Tyldesley, Revoe, Bloomfield, Central Drive and Waterloo wards are over 100 years old and up to 170 years old if I remember right? Of course it would be nice to see them replaced with an emphasis on designs that are sympathetic to their historical past. No doubt, when it does happen, we will see multi-couloured, cheap Housing Association modern day terraces that offer no aesthetic beauty or any hope of them lasting anywhere as long as the ones bulldozed, the ones on and around Tyldesley Road/Rigby Road being a prime example.
 
I do quite a bit work now along Central Drive (unfortunately) and its appalling. The buildings are decaying and the landlords don't have the brass to bring them up to spec,and the people living in there are the bottom of the barrel in every way.
I'm all for helping those who are less fortunate and many have been dealt a bad hand,but the drugs and alcohol fuelled specimens who pollute the area really need to f off back home.
