It's a fan who goes to a match to happily clap along to the chants and support the team, they never voice disapproval

Someone who enjoys going to the match without channeling the resurrected consciousness of Rinus Michels.

As a term of criticism it's right up there with 'do gooder'. We don't want a ground full of happy people clapping obviously, much better to view each game through an angst ridden prism of despair over a failed fullback inversion.

I always thought it was during the Oyston reign, when you had supporters who went to the match despite everything going on around them!
Bit like the Madagascan penguins, "smile and wave boys" whilst mayhem was all around.

Just sit in the stand happily clapping whilst the Oystons were ** up everything at Bloomfield Rd

In my view, it's those who accept mediocrity 99% of the time and are quite happy with it.

A bit like the people who come on here singing CJ's praises after his annual good game 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♀️

Someone who thinks "everything is fine, Critchley is a genius and Simon Sadler is the second coming of Christ".

They also think anyone who shows dissent, is critical of the team, player or owner is a "bedwetter".

Happy clappers struggle to think for themselves or anything outside of their little bubble.

A supporter who supports the team and has a realistic view of our relative position in the scheme of things
A supporter who accepts that we won't win every game and won't play well every week.
A supporter who realises that Sadler is a good owner
A supporter who realises that Critch is actually a good coach who improves what he has and generally buys potential to improve
A supporter who realises that long term progress is more important than the one game we have this week
A supporter who realises that the management know more about the situation than he or she does.
In short, someone who supports their team throughout the highs and lows that we will inevitably have.

You could write a paper on your confirmation bias. Last season it was Maxwell, irrespective of his performance, this season it is CJ, irrespective of his performance, you have pipe vision.

I have decided to be boring and give the correct answer, a happy clapper is usually a born again christian making a quite dreadful din in church when we more respectable folk have a banging hang over. Back in the day anyway.

I always thought it was those who sat down and clapped along to chants. Our away support used to be very happy clappy until we reached the championship under Crichley.

I can't think of one person who is accepting of mediocrity, or who thinks Critchley is a genius, or thinks Sadler is the second coming.

I know people who are appreciative of the money Sadler is putting in, think Critchley has proven ability and can improve us, and are disappointed with some of our results but still think we can challenge over a 46 game season.

People don’t think that at all you are right.

It’s the usual way on this forum to attempt to mock people who are not as angry as them about everything.

And a partridge in a pear tree

If the OP thinks there are worse things to be, then clearly the OP knows what a HC is, so why ask a question when they know the answer?

It's not accepting mediocrity, it's just enjoying having a football club and going to a game, what does whinging all through a game achieve anyway?

Too many people are still in Oyston mode, we couldn't get them out anyway, without Belokon they'd still be here, fan power is a ** myth.

It's been a while for the CJ fans and let's hope they are back on today.
I have no problem with CJ when played correctly but a wing-back he ain't and on many posts this season I have stated Critchley is CJ's worst enemy playing him there.

As for Flappy Boy, I was most certainly correct, and if you can't see that may the lord help you.
