What’s the point

If this decision today is anything to go by then what is the point of starting the season? Utterly pointless, to say that I’m pissed off is an understatement. I hope the Rangers lads and lasses that have booked travel and accommodation still come and give our pubs a right good boost 👍🏻 As for the forthcoming season I’m not having a pop at Blackpool but football in general, if games are gonna get called off all the time then just forget it, did we ever have matches in the past called off for an outbreak of the cold, I can count on one hand the amount of games called off got flu over the last 40 years!!! If a player has Covid and they are fit enough to play so be it, If a team has 10 unfit players then play the reserve team!! What next call off a game for a thigh strain or god forbid a groin strain!!

I'm not sure you quite understand the facts.

and are you 2 boys going to hide behind your sofa for the foreseeable
How is that relevant to the facts surrounding cancelling a football match or to the OP? Do you think players with Covid should be playing as the OP suggests?

Do you think that previously a player with a confirmed case of flu would have been playing?

What has the entire country stopped there whole
Lives for the past 18 months for ? to wait for the vaccine to come out then everyone gets doubled jabbed and then we’re still never going to get on with life.

So you'd rather we play the fixture with Covid infected players?

This is the first time I've been worried about the season.

I've not read anything other than the official statement so I've no idea how many of the squad are affected. How many is "a number".

It's only a friendly so can appreciate the caution but this could be a sign of things to come. There have to be strong rules - if you can put a team out the games must go ahead.

It's one preseason friendly. Bit of a stretch to say the least to go from cancelling one game to never getting on with life.
