Good griefBrad Holmes is my tip. He’s big, quite fast and naturally left sided, which, in among a plethora of right footed forwards, is more than handy.
I know. What do people watch?!Good grief
because he was stuck out wide.Play him through the middle, let him take up good positons between the posts and he will score goals.Lavery had a poor season and at times looked completely lost. No doubt he's a confidence player, just like most forwards. I'm sure with the right partner upfront, better service and against L1 defenders we'll see him flourish. If Jerry is to leave, a large part of the funds need to be used on 2 forwards however.
Yes, I know he was out of position in the main but there were games when he just looked so low on confidence (he wasn't the only one). If he can regain the form he showed when he first arrived, I've no doubt he'll do well.because he was stuck out wide.Play him through the middle, let him take up good positons between the posts and he will score goals.
I've watched Brad Holmes quite a few times and he's a good prospect but he's not ready yetBrad Holmes is my tip. He’s big, quite fast and naturally left sided, which, in among a plethora of right footed forwards, is more than handy.
I was just about to post that I think he's a stone over his ideal weight then i read your commentLavery is a whippet
"Whippet" is certainly not a description of Lavery I would use!!Lavery is a whippet
In cup and league he scored 7 and Jerry 6 - weird we scored so few from our strikers in a season where we comfortably survived.Didn't he score more goals than Jerry the season before last?
Clueless as per.Lavery is a whippet
yep, agree. A step down in division will help him. He needs to get his confidence back and most importantly be played in the right position. But that could depend on who we bring in and whether Yates is still here. And players like those two both need decent service from midfield.Big year for Shayne. Hopefully he can do the business.
You haven’t seen my boys!Lavery is a whippet
Based on your predictions. He will be the divisions top scorer and we will sell him for 15 million.I know. What do people watch?!
He’s so far off troubling the first team it’s untrue.
Also worth bearing in mind is the fact that I've heard rumours he can sometimes be a bit fragile emotionally. I mean, if he was to consistently miss out on team selection, for whatever reason, I think it would be a crying Shayne... I'll fetch me coat!I’ve got big hopes for Shane and Sonny this season. Shane certainly did better under NC and will be desperate to get back to scoring goals again.
I’ve got some hope for Thompson and Casey too but not as high. Let’s hope Critch can work his magic.
We need a goal or 2 from him otherwise this board will combustLavs just needs a goal or two and he'll combust.
I agree. I’m hoping Carey is the big improver this year. I think some people forget how young he is, only 22 and hadn’t kicked a ball in the league prior to jumping in to the championship. He came down and met the players at my lads junior footy club and he was brilliant with them, bright switched on young man.I’ve got big hopes for Shane and Sonny this season. Shane certainly did better under NC and will be desperate to get back to scoring goals again.

More of a Schnauzer, ratting away."Whippet" is certainly not a description of Lavery I would use!!
Lavery has a similar stature to Wayne Rooney, he's deceptively quick but whippet is definitely not the comparison I'd make. If he were a dog, I'd say he's more of a staffie.Lavery is a whippet
That might explain his lack of goals!Lavs just needs a goal or two and he'll combust.
