What could have been?

Hindsight is a great thing. But I also agree things could have been done better & we even had perfect examples from other countries who were ahead of us. Too much dilly dallying until the damage was already done. As I said to Potter years ago about investment in the grounds infrastructure, proper maintenance can actually save money in the long run, the same applies to the NHS who started from a low base & that was down to successive governments.

This just about sums up what a complete bunch of whoppers momentum are. No winder the Labour Party is fucked👎

That video takes delusion to a whole new level..I’m looking forward to the next election slogan👍

I was thinking a play on the Tory “Back to Basics” theme... with..

“BACK TO THE FUTURE”

The new time travelling party with 20/20 hindsight👍

Hey Cat what do you think of the current vaccine roll out?
8.4m people vaccinated as of yesterday, 443,000 vaccinated in one day.
Not a case of what could have been but a case of what factually is.
It’s not the time to rejoice just yet but surely a time for a 👍 from you?
Jeez Jaffa, are you Jesus? That's like asking for a miracle. 😉

Factually is.
100,000 deaths +
Highest deaths in Europe
Worst economic decline in any G7 country
Repeatedly causing extra deaths by not implementing scientific advice to lockdown quickly enough
Sending infected patients to spread the infection in care homes
Billions in corrupt contracts to friends and party donors.

Getting one thing right is not good enough when you have already killed tens of thousands.

Have you twigged yet it’s a global pandemic?

I take it one of your students has told you it’s just the U.K. thats suffering?

Suffering disproportionately.

I see Perth WA has brought in a total lockdown for 2 million people because ONE person has tested positive. He's a security guard at a quarantine hospital so it's likely hes caught it off a visitor in quarantine.

Meanwhile we're admitting thousands a day into hospital while still thinking about introducing quarantine for incoming travellers.

And your "blameless" China have killed 2 million through their cover up, lies and deceit.
Anyway is that the PM in your opening post? He's the guy you couldn't wish a speedy recovery to when he was in hospital and seriously ill with the disease isn't it? Instead you said you didn't wish him dead as you didn't believe in the death penalty, A disgustingly sick comment from some-one who is supposed to be responsible for the education of our children.

I’ve a teaching friend whose actually based in China. Left the British education system to teach abroad, as so many do. They have told many a story (pre-Covid too) about the appalling behaviour of the Chinese Communist Party, and I wish that rather these sanctimonious liberal types would save some of their wrath for the real tyrants of this world.

Jesus wept, this Catinstalbans poster speaks as if Boris and his Government are actively hell bent on mass genocide of the UK populous - Which, as (thankfully) the vast majority of fair minded posters on ALL political persuasions, knows is absolute rubbish and for the birds!

YES, our Government HAVE made mistakes!

But to relentlessly rant on on like this schoolteacher does, on an obscure football forum, is all rather worrying for the mindset of these types of people, who unfortunately do exist in the UK in 2021 😔

By all means have differing political opinions, that’s democracy and should be welcomed, but you have to be balanced and rational in your views - To be taken with an ounce of seriousness:

Catinstalbans is the very worst type of poster in political discussion, no better than the Tommy Robinson’s of this world.
Why does he come on this board.

Sadly it seems to have taken until now for the government to realise it and start thinking about imposing some effective quarantine measures and border controls.
They’ve been in a while actually some going back to March 2020 when we had the first lockdown sadly though they were lifted as people thought the virus was beaten.
Even today in the N W alone Police raided a hotel were 4 separate parties were taking place 200 people in total and a gym was still being used.
The Government could have done more I agree and done things sooner but as long as we have arse holes around it’s going to drag on and on.

I said "effective" like making people isolate on arrival rather than just asking people to do it!
Reacting to dickheads that flout the law is all well and good, and a difficult task, but some things could have and should have been done much better.

Come on, you’re the most prolific poster on this forum with your bile and abuse.

You’ve no Oyston regime to support anymore, so why are you spewing such anti British and Pro EU bile daily? It’s like some kinda weird obsession ... What is wrong with you?

Have you no work to do ???

HISTORY not hindsight will judge Boris Johnson and his government.

There won't be any statues going up.

Of course it will, I'm not sure anyone is saying any different. Just as it will judge every previous PM.
Not sure it's relevant either about statues. Anyway out of interest who was the last PM to have a statue erected? I've no idea.

The reference to a 'statue' was metaphorical only.

I'm afraid no one will want to remember Boris.

The real problem we have is that there are no better alternatives at the moment. The bar is so low that even Ronnie Corbett couldn't limbo under it. Even Starmer is reverting to politico-auto-speak now.

Mrs T I think.

Although there may be a bust of John Major in the HoC somewhere.
