What do you buy a 50 year old Blackpool fan?

Come on then suggestions please. Brother is 50 next month and is a huge 'Pool fan. What should I buy him that will make his birthday. Corporate seems obvious, he's not really a shirt or merchandise wearer and I can find little on line that has got the wow factor. Any ideas?

Memrobelia. A signed BFC Football with a certificate of authenticity. I got one for my 50th
Comes wrapped in cellophane and tangerine ribbon
Or
A day in hospitality for him and a friend include a meet and greet with the players

In all seriousness - if he's 50 and not into merchandise, then just get him a decent bottle of whisky or something. 50 is too old for football presents.

I think if you try on line again ,but not Amazon somewhere less obvious . I have a set of Blackpool Russian dolls and a Framed picture of Blackpool players with a clock in the middle. In fact why not a picture of the ground or the Prem team or something like that.

I have just ordered, for my nephew's 60th birthday, a book from Historic Newspapers. Look at the sports section of books and all football teams are listed. You can get a bound copy of newspapers articles relating to The Mighty Pool from 1929 (I think) until present day.

My wife bought me the Blackpool edition for my 70th and I have since bought a book for a friend (though I won't mention his team!).

Yes, some years back my parents got me a Daily Mirror version of the historical newspapers collection. As you say, from 1929.

A flask and a blanket.

Or a pair of crown green bowls.

Or both if you're splashing out. As over 50s tend to do....

My other half got me one of these leatherbound inscripted books of matchday reports through the years off eBay for my birthday, back in the mists of time.
Brings back lots of memories.
My kids like to skim through it too from time to time checking old league tables and scores, and I then get all nostalgic.

I got the Russian doll set Found them in a side street shop in Prague. Couldn’t believe it resemblances are a bit questionable but a funny gift for my dad 🧡

Well here’s the view of a 50 year old bloke…

1. Steer clear of clothing I’d rather choose my own thanks

2. Steer clear of booze (unless consulting the Mrs) as I’d rather choose my own thanks.

3. No Blackpool memorabilia or other shyte that I’ll look at once and shove in a drawer. I’ve already got more than enough shyte cluttering up the place that I don’t use as it is.

4. Ideally something useful that I actually need / want relating to a hobby or interest…

5. No sexual related stuff…. It’s really not funny and like everything else I like to manage my own ‘routines’

Depends on how close you are

Really close - Full corporate the works

Not very close - Moretti lounge £10

Tena pants for men in preparation for when holding the bladder becomes a challenge especially when you’ve had 4 pints before a game according to a mate of mine!🥴

Copy of the how not to run a football club book, a Blackpool FC pint glass or two, a load of Seasiders Way from Farmyard Ales and a birthday pork pie or hamper from the Pork Shop.

I got that for my last birthday and I was pretty happy tbf

I do mean a Russian doll set that had different Blackpool players going down in size. They were from the Keagan Parker era ,but some of the taller players in life were smaller then the smaller players in life.
