What is the strangest thing you have had on toast?

Chicken and mushroom pot noodle, remember one time in a different life, got the munchies, sugar puffs on toast, that’s all that was available 🤪

In my part of the world they have something called Pintxos (pinchos) which is everything you can imagine on (usually) toasted bread. There are competitions between the restaurants across the whole region for the best pintxos, and some incredibly elaborate constructions.

One of my regular places does a soft shell crab on a bau bun, not quite toast but close enough
another place does spicy grilled prawns with mango
one of my favourites is one with a toasted slice of baguette with a layer of mashed potato, then foi gras and a soft poached egg on top of it all - epic

Remembered another classic I still do when funds allow... and my invention to the best of my knowledge. Not sure if it counts cos its IN toast...

Beef Wellington Club Sandwich. Bottom layer is mushroom duxelle and rocket. Top layer is foie gras + fillet steak and if (I can be arsed) a thin layer of puff pastry cooked previously. Best served on rye with mustard to taste.

Garlic rubbed in, topped with sundried tomato, Manchego cheese, fresh torn basil and drizzle of ev olive oil.

Oh, the strange part? I make it 😁

Once after struggling for sleep for a while and finally getting some one night, I somehow managed to make some toast in one of those bizarre semi-sleep states. And I put dog food on it. Thankfully I managed to work out what I was doing before eating it.

Another nice topping.

Brown cap mushrooms sliced and cooked with garlic in butter with a touch of olive oil, a splash of white wine. A sprinkle of smoked paprika, and thickened with yoghurt.
