What will your team be once Lyons is available?

Why would he make the side Gabriel and Connolly will be in front of him?
Surely he's got to be eased in big step up from NI league to the Championship.

Agree with all that Dave.
 
Not coming from NI league (although Lavery is a great example of that one) he is from ROI league.
Lyons has had a lot of European games with Shamrock Rovers and previously Bohemians and under 21 international games.
I think he will fit in straight away and is probably impressing in training.
He is not just a full back but a goal scorer too,
I would introduce him off the bench.

I instinctively prefer Fiorini in midfield to Kenny, however in the games where Bridcutt was fit and Kenny was let loose to press further forward, we caused teams so many problems. The team above is based on high octane pressing. Really getting stuff in from front to back.
 
As no-one is picking Theo or Poveda (and mostly MA isn't either), can we send them back and bring a couple of players in on the wing who might actually play?

I'd go with:

Lyons Ekpiteta Thorniley Husband
Connolly
Patino Fiorini
Lavery Madine Yates

I think we need more experience in midfield (Bridcutt won't be fit much this season imo), we need some more firepower (possibly Beesley but can he be relied on - he hasn't played much), and we need a couple of effective wingers, as Lavery is not a winger).

I think when the season re starts it's gonna be difficult as to who misses out on the match day squad as we will have a few back from injury wanting to make the cut
 
As for picking the best 11 that could prove difficult but I'd like to se Lyons Cj lavery all playing a part as we are gonna need pace and tenacity to stop the manner in which we keep getting beat.
 
Simple answer is that it depends if he can play left back as well.
If so...I think Gabriel is a bit better (currently) than Thompson...so same team as yours but Gabriel RB Lyons LB.
