What do you think it would take and do you think he would be as ruthless as he was with Grayson and Appleton because the snake once deserted him?
In fairness he’s had all season to sort it!I suspect Simon will look for signs that the home form can be translated to away results,
I agree, but I suspect Simon will not want the reputation as a hirer and firer which would come with sacking a manager with his club in 8th posion in the league, and a superb home recordIn fairness he’s had all season to sort it!
A season is quite a long time these days.I agree, but I suspect Simon will not want the reputation as a hirer and firer which would come with sacking a manager with his club in 8th posion in the league, and a superb home record

I am inclined to agree with you jimbo.I don’t think he’s secure as people think and I do think there will be contingency plans in place this time as they’ll have (hopefully) learnt from the mistakes of 2 years ago.
If we’re still in the playoff mix come the last day and either make it or just miss out then that will be enough for him to stay. If not, I wouldn’t be surprised if Sadler pulls the trigger.
Appleton was also apparently the best candidate last season too. Based on this, I'd rather Sadler appointed the worst candidate, because he clearly has no ideaListen to what he said. Critchley was by far the best candidate and that conclusion was after a consultancy so if that was true who does he hire? Simon has a habit of painting himself into a corner.
Bollocks no chance .5000 drop in season tickets.
You don't get to be as successful as he is by not taking advice from people who know better than you do! The problem in football is far too many people are seen as experts simply because they tell people they are! The managerial merry-go-round is a perfect example of how fucked up the game is. Failed managers continue to be given lucrative contracts for no sensible reasons whatsoever!Does Sadler actually listen to people and take advice?
Has he got the right people around him and not just a bunch of sycophants?
Genuine questions btw.
Looking back at his managerial appointments and numerous really poor decisions along the way.
He’s clearly well intentioned and not doing it on purpose, but you know it’s bad when you start making Karl appear professional.
Taking a dump on Sadlers desk should be enough I’d of thoughtWhat do you think it would take and do you think he would be as ruthless as he was with Grayson and Appleton because the snake once deserted him?
I suspect Critch’s contract is not much different pretty standard.I'm led to believe that Appleton had a minimum league position clause in his contract that allowed us to sack him with little to no compo. I'm sure Critchley will have similar and the bar should be far higher in this division than Apple's was in the Championship. Top 6 would have been my minimum requirement, I guess we'll find out if SS included a clause and if it falls short of my minimum at the end of the season!
We can but hope for a lengthy series of games in which we fail miserably to secure a victory, then; preferably a sequence which stretches into something approaching double figures ... Cos how could anyone then attempt to fight his corner against a backdrop such as that?A long run of games without a win, anything above 5 games and he’ll be in trouble.
We’ll probably go on a decent run now with the home games and that will keep him in the job until next season.
And we could all then celebrate his departure by tucking into a hearty breakfast, consisting of a range of cereals - and, of course, (just to continue the theme), a lightly boiled 'poached' egg ...I suspect Critch’s contract is not much different pretty standard.
The length of contract protects the club rather than the manager.
In the event of a poach the entire contract is bought out by the poacher .
In the event of a dismissal it will contain a much lesser compo provision . That’s my understanding .

Looks, to me, as though someone has really got their 'clause' out for Critch, doncha think?I'm led to believe that Appleton had a minimum league position clause in his contract that allowed us to sack him with little to no compo. I claused the door behind him when he last left but somehow he came back.Looks, to me, as though someone has really got their 'clause' out for Critch, doncha think?
I hope that we’ll have a positive end to the season but each to their own.We can but hope for a lengthy series of games in which we fail miserably to secure a victory, then; preferably a sequence which stretches into something approaching double figures ... Errrr, given the somewhat dodgy trackrecord he has rapidly acquired for himself in this area, I would rather Sadler had nothing whatsoever to do with such appointments, and, instead, left such business in the hands of someone with greater background knowledge and experience. If I could just convey my heartfelt apologies to Simon ...Appleton was also apparently the best candidate last season too. Based on this, I'd rather Sadler appointed the worst candidate, because he clearly has no idea
If a 5,000 drop ensures Critchley's exit, fans' no would make them complicit.Bollocks no chance .
'Sycophants'? D'you not mean, 'Sickophants', or even, 'Psychophants'?Does Sadler actually listen to people and take advice?

Sycophants in underpants.'Sycophants'? D'you not mean, 'Sickophants', or even, 'Psychophants'?
I'm just wanting to clarify ...
Jake Beesley has started the last 6 games. Scored 0. A striker 0.I'd say losing 4 of the last 6, fan discontent and poor season ticket sales may tip the balance. That aside Sadler is going to have to back him or sack him this summer. The head coach and recruitment team have to do better than signing duds like Joseph, Norburn, etc. Critchley also needs to have a rethink on tactics. We need more technical players, with more pace and better engines. Our play is way too slow and predictable and we lack both creativity and killer instinct when Rhodes is not available. It's going to be an expensive summer either way for Simon if he has any ambition of getting back to the Championship.
He had to change a losing mentality within the club don't you know.....that's gone well away from home !In fairness he’s had all season to sort it!
Behave. Critchley is clearly out of his depth and needs experience next to him but to put us as relegation candidates is beyond insane. If nothing changes, expect the exact same again next season - there or there abouts but massively flattering.near relegation next Christmas
I'm not laying all the blame on KJ but the truth is he's been piss poor and in my view an absolute dud given the fee involved. His stats back that up.Jake Beesley has started the last 6 games. Scored 0. A striker 0.
Jordan Rhodes zero goals since December. Zero.
Kyle Joseph has been brought on no earlier than 65 mins in the last 5 games and scored 0. But he’s the dud?
He holds a big transfer fee and he definitely needs to score more goals but he can link play and has created a number of goals for us this season. The fee he’s worth should mean we are setting up for him to succeed. Bringing him on with 20 mins to go isn’t that especially given that Jake Beesley has been absolutely pony during this period. Wigan away he was completely embarrassing but starts the next match. Won nothing in the air, hold up play appalling. But still starts.
The only reason he’s starting Beesley is because after 30 passes between the back 3 we’d have nobody to pump a long ball to if he wasn’t there.
KJ has missed 2 good chances at Wigan and had one well blocked at Derby…but at least he’s having them in the short time he’s on the pitch. I can’t remember Beesley having a decent chance in any of the last 6? Bar for Pompey when he was clean through and looked like he had a piano on his back.
I’m not entirely sure what you are going on about .If a 5,000 drop ensures Critchley's exit, fans' no would make them complicit.
Jesus. You can only presume the other candidate must have been the Saturday girl from the Boots perfume counter.Listen to what he said. Critchley was by far the best candidate and that conclusion was after a consultancy so if that was true who does he hire? Simon has a habit of painting himself into a corner.
