When Gary Madine plays……….,

………..we pass it pass about a bit, then lump it in or up to him……..every time.
Watford we’re sharper than Pool, might have had four. They were denied a blatant penalty, hit the bar and forced Maxi into a wonder save just after half time. Pool’s sole effort on target was a looping header from Yates after going behind. Pool were toothless., although Rogers looked handy, and CJ worked hard. Patino is not a patch on the player he was 3 months ago. He must come come out of there for a while.
Pool need to re-think their attacking strategy, and quickly.

Gary has his uses but is too slow and yesterday gave thr ball away too much.

Top scorer on the bench is one of the few odd decisions.

Never a penalty by the way. They were a cheating set of divers.

yep, looked a penalty all day long and if he'd given it couldn't have complained. You then see it again and it's a blatant dive. So well done ref
I was at the other end of the ground and thought it was a dive, tbf.

Thought they were diving non stop constantly looking for our players to lean into touch then go down .Refs continually fall for it and coMs and pundits fall for it calling out fouls as ours did yesterday .

You can tell in the first 10mins what kind of game Madine is going to have,if his first touch is good then we are in business but if it starts pinging off him all over the place it just isn't going to improve, which was the case yesterday

First half against Sunderland Madine had his fellow attackers within 5-10 yards of him when the ball went long towards him. We looked dangerous & should have scored more than the one we got.
Majority of the rest of the time this season the ball has gone long to Madine & no one in tangerine is within 20 yards of him.

As an addendum, Madine is at his best when the ball is delivered in the air from the bye line. It never is ! CJ fires ‘em across on the deck, and if Bowler plays, he wants to come inside onto his left foot. Gazza is neutralised before the kick off.

I like Madine, he always gives is all but no one can tell me he is the type of striker that works on his own up top. Rogers linked well a few times but as the game wore on more and more of our long balls isolated Madine. Obviously I'm just a fan, not a super coach but I just can't see what Appleton does. We look miles off it at times.

Madine upfront on his own hinders us severely. Not Madine’s fault as it’s not his game to be a lone striker. There is far too much pressure on him. It really is poor management.

Appleton tried this earlier in the season and he failed and now he's trying it again and it's failing.
Can Sadler not afford to keep us in this league and this idiot is being given a bung to take us down?

I think other teams have worked Patino out, they know he usually will take a touch so they close him down (maybe man to man him) knowing that often they will win the ball back.
