When things were really bad...

Coincidentally, I was in Bramhall, Stockport on Saturday night eating at a decent Polish Restaurant called The Honeypot.
Walked past that a few days ago and wondered what it was like…..dropping off some books at the Oxfam shop in the precinct….Bramhall,Cheadle Hulme and Cheadle all have some good food places these days….but you can’t beat home cooking😉even if you have to wash the pots after😂

It was just a group of local business men. Ken Chadwick was chairman, Peter Lawson?, Ismail Gibrail? We were losing money hand over fist and there were serious plans to sell Bloomfield Rd and groundshare with PNE believe it or not!
Didn’t realise they were all involved at the same time even though I’ve been supporting us since 77, worked for Chadwick a good few years ago when he lived in stalmine, Lawson was a very dodgy solicitor who represented me in a minor court case which I won,and about 4 years ago I had a customer in who saw my bfc scarf in the van windscreen and turned out to be Ishmail’s son , unsurprisingly he said his dad had made a lot of money through tea plantation’s in India, he spoke about Owen sniffing around the club at the time but surprisingly didn’t have anything bad to say about him, I didn’t pursue it due to the job being reasonably lucrative

That's the thing with Polish food. It feels very similar to good, hearty home cooking. There's another good one in the centre of Crewe if you're ever that way.

Regarding re-election. When you think back, growing up with it, it seemed to be at least one and usually several of the same teams in the frame year after year.

With respect to all of them: Crewe, Hartlepool, Halifax, Rochdale were never far away from the zone if they weren't in it. Habitual re-election appliers, and got back in every time. So if be we'd not been given the nod on our one go, you could only assume the FA hated us even then than now.

It was just the embarrassment of the whole situation, but I don't think we were ever in doubt for it.
The decision was made by clubs voting, all the FA did was organise the ballot.
