When will a new manager announcement be made??

Depends on who applies, or if there’s someone he wants that hasn’t applied. It also depends on whether he’s available, or under contract. If it’s the latter, negotiations could take time. Remember also, it’s bank holiday, plus some potential managers and their directors could be away on holiday.

Don’t think bank holiday really applies to football managers looking for a job - it wouldn’t for me anyway.

They’ll be able to do Skype/Microsoft Teams interviews for anyone on holiday also I imagine.
 
Monday?...seems like the club have known for weeks that NC was going . So would of expected all interviews to be done and dusted by now... Surely?

Call that the ‘hard’ deadline … I guess June 16?

Remember how quickly Simon Grayson came in? Think of that and shudder…

One worry is that we don’t seem to have a programme of pre-season games yet (unless we’re still waiting on announcements)

Serious question….has any premiership or EFL ever advertised the position of head coach or mananger ( whatever they want to call it these days)…I suspect the answer is a resounding NO……and where would you advertise it…….in the personal column of the Gazette with GSOH as the main criteria🤔😉😀

Don’t think Villa at home would go down to well right now😳
One issue for me would be if the new “person” ( gender equality😁) also wanted to bring in their own background staff leaving us with a lack of any continuity especially after Simon and the board have been at pains to create this.

They certainly used to do. Not sure if it still happens. I just think it’s a useful way if finding out who is actually interested as there may be some you want to consider who you think might not be up for it.
I guess it would go somewhere in the National press.
 
They announced Grayson very quickly after McPhillips left. Let's hope they take their time this time 😊

If Phil was in charge of the recruitment process I am sure his enthusiasm.cheerfulness, and vision would have the candidates saying they would do it for free,in fact paying the club for the privilege.
Alternatively some on here might suggest we would never make an appointment as candidates would make an excuse to leave for a toilet visit and never come back.
 
As soon as it was known "he" had gone, there would have been numerous contacts from individuals and their agents directly to Ben. This is an attractive job for many managers. What I hope is that the Recruitment team also has feelers out to others, perhaps at U23 level in Prem teams. I think the model has worked well, it is just you can never plan for an individual going off piste.
 
Difficult to put a timescale on such a key decision, although I'm sure Sadler knows that a timely appointment is important. No doubt a list of available managers, suitable candidates and a raft of emails from agents are already being worked through. A short list will be drawn up this weekend, interviews next week, potentially 2nd interviews, followed by negotiations the following week. I'd say an appoint will be made a week Friday and just before the players are back for pre-season training.
