Apart from the retained list which is pretty importantThis is the biggest decision of the summer for the club, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it takes another week or so.
Not much will happen over the next 3 weeks so there is still plenty of time - I’m just glad there appears to be a lot of thought going into it!
For the Musicals fans, That's 'Eliza Doolittle Day'.Has to happen by May 20th for this year I believe.
Hardly quick as they've known since January, at the latest. It's far more important to make the right decision, than a quick one.
Except that Badlan and Mansford have gone. So how do we choose someone? No sporting director and no CEO. We've got a hedge fund manager, a finance bloke and a revenue bloke. I cant see where the expertise is. It's an expensive mistake if you get it wrong, as Sadler must now know.Hardly quick as they've known since January, at the latest.
Everyone bar one has gone though since then who would be involved in that decision.Hardly quick as they've known since January, at the latest.

Surely, they will have done all the groundwork and now SS is not starting from scratch again.Everyone bar one has gone though since then who would be involved in that decision.
Bit of both probably.Surely, they will have done all the groundwork and now SS is not starting from scratch again.
So what will happen then now?Everyone bar one has gone though since then who would be involved in that decision.
Decision should have been made weeks ago and Dobbie should be the fly in the ointment that serves to confuse. So what will happen then now?
We need a decision buy cant have one until the new Sporting Director comes in? Who also doesn't know anything about us.
Seemingly, the only person who can really assess it is Dobbie. Unless Donnelly is involved or some other random combination?
But what if it's Dobbie, he assesses it and if he isn't appointed, he's basically judged who's here for the next manager.
It's all guesswork as we don't know who's deciding what, but we should have been making a decisions as soon as the season finished. Let's hope this doesn't drag on and become farcical.
Phil can’t do it he’s being interviewed to replace scrafters, conflict of interest and all that! It’s pretty easy, just ask Raggy and Phil to choose
I bet he'd be buzzing if appointed...Decision should have been made weeks ago and Dobbie should be the fly in the ointment that serves to confuse.
Maybe Badlan failed to deliver?Decision should have been made weeks ago and Dobbie should be the fly in the ointment that serves to confuse.
Bill 40’s countdown starts here - 10 days to goHas to happen by May 20th for this year I believe.
They could also make a slow decision and a wrong oneIt's far more important to make the right decision, than a quick one.
When they are readyPersonally hope its before weekend so we can see some structure and stability going forward.
Nailed on them, just like Liam Rosenior last summer when he was on the same oddsBowyer now a heavy fav 1/10 on
I'd think it would be this week. Everything hinges on the head coach appointment including release and retention on contracts before we even think about the new player recruitment.Personally hope its before weekend so we can see some structure and stability going forward.
That's the point, no sporting director yet, when will he arrive? If from sheff we'd does he go soon or after the playoffs?I'd think it would be this week. MrsDP will never forgive me.For the Musicals fans, That's 'Eliza Doolittle Day'.
'Next week om the 20th of May I proclaim Eliza Doolittle Day'.
Just threw that in for a laugh.
One of the best musicals ever.
No way a manager will be announces before the sports director is announcedI’ll say Bowyer announced tomorrow.
When's the third Dave?MrsDP will never forgive me.
20th May is also our 51st Wedding anniversary.
Where did it all go??
A second marriage for both of us.
51 not out . I hope you are well, Dave.MrsDP will never forgive me.

Think it might be 12 noon11.00 on a Friday (today) could be the moment….
Yes, that considered process went really well with Appleton and GraysonIt's far more important to make the right decision, than a quick one.
Yes, we look to be on the verge of turning a simple matter into an over complicated mess once againIf Simon had faith in Stephen Dobbie he would have announced him as manager by now. He wouldn't have to wait
I'm not sure announced is the right word. If someone has agreed to the gig which we are led to believe is the case, then it doesn't need announcing in public as such, just as long as the key players are aware.Didn't Dobbie sayt the club was waiting for a sporting director to be announced?
Stephen Dobbie provides an insight on what must happen before Blackpool appoint a new head coach
Stephen Dobbie is not expecting Blackpool to appoint a new head coach until a sporting director is in place.www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk
This all hinges it appears to me on the sporting director appointment - it appears he is working his notice (a month I guess) so we can’t announce him until the day he journalism is. You would imagine he will then have input on the final decision when hopefully the decision follows shortly after. Decision by early next week I hope particularly as we have to publish our release/retained list which again you image the be SD will have input onI’m beginning to think we’re dithering again, although as I said on another thread I think they may have already made all of the appointments and they’re just waiting for Sheffield Wednesday’s fate to be determined before making the announcements - so as not to rock their boat.
Dobbie also said he hadn't yet been spoken to but would this week. Article dated 10/5...I'm not sure announced is the right word. If someone has agreed to the gig which we are led to believe is the case, then it doesn't need announcing in public as such, just as long as the key players are aware.
The article might have been from that time frame but those quotes were from the game on MondayDobbie also said he hadn't yet been spoken to but would this week. Article dated 10/5...
Despite the sporting director vacancy, it’s understood interviews for a new boss have already taken place with a number of applicants. Dobbie has yet to hold talks with the club’s hierarchy but now the season has concluded, he expects those conversations to be forthcoming this week.
"“We’ll have a nice couple of days and then we’ll see where the conversations go.
“The sporting director needs to be put in place and obviously Ben (Mansford) has left as well, so there’s some movement there as well. I’ll just enjoy tonight, watch the development squad on Tuesday and then we’ll see what comes this week.”
Dobbie added: “There’s obviously a lot of turnover at the club upstairs and in the dressing room, so the next couple of days I’m sure it will become a little bit clearer. Over the coming weeks I’m sure we’ll get back to where we need to, to get ready for pre-season.”
“Since I’ve come in, it’s all been about the next game. Even with people saying there was nothing on this final game, there was for me. I’m sure over the next few days there will be conversations and we’ll see where we get to.”
