Where are you from? Help me with this survey please folks.

Not 4 grandparents from Blackpool, but a 4 generation link on one side.

Me
Dad
Grandmother
Great Grandmother

All from Blackpool.

Blackpool is a relatively young town so when you go back a few generations it's less likely to have them all from Blackpool.

Parents

Mother - Poulton-Le-Fylde

Father - Leicestershire

Me - abroad

Dad was a Leicester fan. Mum's family were all from Merseyside so either Everton or Liverpool

Apparently, 70% of Blackpool folk are from elsewhere, but we all support the community club.

I'll start.

Dad born in Burma as his dad was an RSM stationed in Rangoon.
His dad born in Darlington, but the family lived in Pontefract, so my dad originated from Pontefract.
His mum born in Cork, south coast of Ireland. Died tragically falling on spikes whilst pregnant. Baby died too. My dad was 8.

Mum born in Airdrie. Her entire family from Airdrie, but spread nowadays to Coventry and all over Britain plus Canada and USA.

I was born in Yorkshire.

I am 100% Blackpool through and through. I don't know anyone with 4 grand parents from Blackpool.

Anyone on here with 4 Blackpool born grandparents?
Born in St. Anne's. (War memorial hospital). Dad born in Bury . Mum born in Kirkham.

As my Username says “ Martonbornbred”.
Note - not Blackpool. Proud of my Marton roots as Marton was in the Doomsday Book and Blackpool wasn’t! 😄
Paternal side back to c1650 in Whitegate and my family still live in the area.
Maternal side - going back - Gt. Marton, Little Marton then Little Layton c1712.
All my ancestors on both sides as far back as I can trace were born on the Fylde Coast or Over Wyre.

I was born at Glen Royd hospital Blackpool, my Dad was born in Preesall as was my Mum. My Dads parents were both born in Stalmine, my Mums Dad was born in Preesall and her Mum was born in Stockport. I can trace one side of the family tree to the English Civil war and they were living near Garstang.
Id call myself ‘local’ 😂
My Dad's mum's family all come from Stalmine, named Howarth.

Born in Blackpool.

My Old Dear and my Grandparents arrived in Blackpool during the Second World War from Blackburn, my old dear was 4 when War broke out.

My Old Man was from Co Tipperary, Ireland . So were all his side going back years. He moved to London in the 60s. Met my old dear, down there, got married and they moved back up to Blackpool in the late 60s.

He first took me to Bloomfield Rd age 6 in 1976. I'm ** glad that he did.

I don't post that much nowadays as as some of the shit fits on here and in general last season were embarrassing frankly.

Fuck me it was bad over the years. I don't live in Blackpool now and haven't done for a good while but it never leaves you. Keep The Faith.

Disclaimer. This is posted after about 8 pints but you know how it is 🍺😜 UTMP

My great great great grandfather was a Scandinavian fisherman shipwrecked of the coast of Southport and never returned home. From that the family ended up in Fleetwood and my Father was born at 46 Park ave Fleetwood.

My mother her sister and 2 brothers where the first generation of that side of the family to be born outside of Belfast. They were all born in Blackpool.

I was born in the Vic and grew up on Nansen Road Fleetwood. Was a Ball boy at Fleetwood 85/86/87 before I turned Tangerine. My dad who passed away end of March this year has always been a Fleetwood fan so always had plenty of banter with him over football.

I did a dna test and I have 0% English in me which is amazing as I would expect to of had some but I don’t.

I class myself as white British but my dna says otherwise.

But you are a true Sandgrownun…..like me…and that fact will never change🥳

I know because I was born in Heywood. My parents, grandparents and great grandparents were all born in Heywood and lived there all their lives. I have a brother and sister who still live there. I came to Blackpool aged 20 to work on the pleasure beach and never left, Blackpool that is, not the pleasure beach. That was 62 years ago, so I am almost a local now.

Christ, there ain't half some mongrels on this thread!

Me, both parents and 3 out of 4 grandparents all from Blackpool! Just one grandparent from Oldham.
