I don't have an issue with Brett. What are you on about? Been drinking ?
Penny dropped yet?no, i think you have. Read it again, I said "for me, I....".
Just for clarity, me, means me and I means me. In other words, not you.

A lot of legends somehow seem to have a ‘special’ bond with the fans. One that’s hard to explain sometimes but it’s just there.Billy Ayres would be a legendary manager for most of us for example. Evatt,Brett,GTF & Crainey all had it too.Baptiste was a great defender but just didn’t have that same bond with the fans that Evatt & Crainey did.I do get Wizs point but it's a valid question is that do you have to be a great player to be a legend? Not necessarily. For me, I would never say Brett was a great player but for what he achieved with us he deserves legend status. Perhaps we could give a title of legend status to the team/squad much in the way we would to the 53 team.

andy garner to the listLegend is an easy label these days.
I restrict legendary status in my time watching to maybe four or five players in over 50 years watching.
Armfield, Suddick and Green are legends.
Of the Premier team I'd include Brett, although that's partially about his previous service to us, and Charlie who made it all happen.
I've loads of time for the rest, but legends?
He's approaching legendary status for his co-commentatingBurgess used to get plenty of abuse of fans, not sure he should be in that category
That's horse shit, the club wouldn't give him a proper contract, he wanted to stay. They had plenty of opportunites to sort his contract out.playing wise, I'd agree but those listed in the legend group, always seem to come across as if it meant so much to them when playing for us. For Vaughan we were just another club.
I think he's liked in a non-footballing regard, had a bit of personality about him and had a celebration that would be mimicked.Burgess used to get plenty of abuse of fans, not sure he should be in that category
Yes I recall that and I don't wish to decry what a great player he was, but is it not the case he wanted his next contract sorted out at the start of the season[12 months in advance,], which to be fair it should have been, but the club chose for some reason [money] not to do that and left it til during the season to try and sort it by which time he was not interested. That's not defending the club because they fcuked up badly, but the opportunity to stay did arise. And lets face it, players like GTF, Evatt, Crainey , Southern and a few others all signed and stayed. So not really horse shit. That's horse shit, the club wouldn't give him a proper contract, he wanted to stay. They had plenty of opportunites to sort his contract out.
