Which route

For those driving which which is the preferred route? Done M6/M1 and M6/M40 don't think there is a lot in it. Would be good to turn a couple of service stations tangerine!

And what time is everyone leaving - I have work till 08 00 on Sunday - so cant leave until then. Assuming 4 - 4 1/2 hours leaves plenty of time

Done both plenty of time and m1 always seems the easiest route and slightly quicker. Just check google maps on your phone getting to Birmingham as it will tell you the quickest route based on traffic crashes etc

Always done M6 because the M1 always seems like a pain to get to on the M61.

Also, posh services on the Toll.

ALWAYS USE THE TOLL, worth every penny as you get to do the whacky races drive off from the booths to merge into lanes, and you can do whatever speed on there as the police have no jurisdiction*.

*this last bit may not possibly be true.
And also pretend you're smuggling into the US from Mexico.* 'we're through the checkpoint, everyone relax...'

I've never seen a police car on it, I am caning it though so everything's a bit blurry.

*might just be me.

Nope, I haven't either and have enjoyed the new(ish now) tarmac and less cars to good effect too 👍

Norton Canes services on the toll road was a sea of Tangerine both ways in 2010.

Rest assured however, plod enjoys using radar on the Toll road due to the above urban myth!

For you lads coming in by car, the easiest places to park are along the Met Line from Uxbridge up to Rayners Lane. A couple is stops further on is Wembley Park. Uxbridge is favourite; . it’s on a Sunday so the multi- storey car parks will be empty. Drink before you go in to Wembley. £10+ for warm piss. Uxbridge is on the M40 practically. It’s a no brainer.

Not sure yet. Was going to drive and park at Stanmore, but Uxbridge might be better as it's M40 instead of the M1, which seems to be a permanent 50mph zone. Hmmm.

My first post on here so hi, everyone!

I'm a season ticket holder and live in London so one of the lucky ones who are going on Sunday. Seen a few people suggesting places to park but if anybody is struggling and wants to park near a station have a look at Dollis Hill and Willesden Green. Just 2 miles off the M1 and straight on the Jubilee line going to Wembley Park.

The streets around there are permit holders during the week but free on Sundays. Best of luck, everybody!

M55 M6 A50 M1 seems to be the quickest route?
Why A50 M55 M6 M1 is more direct it's Sunday so spaghetti junction will be quite ,after that it's a breeze (don't think tolls will help improve either ) however it's a bank holiday weekend ☹️ good luck to all who are traveling ,first one I've missed ,enjoy folks up the mighty,Budda being clad in tangerine and white on Sunday and gonna wash him down before game (still facing the east by the way)😁👍.

Rozzy apparently Stanmore is not available this weekend ,that why I parked at the pink car park .

The police have regular crackdowns on the M6 Toll, both in marked and unmarked patrol cars and using radar. Take care.

Express and Star: 'Almost 300 motorists - including some travelling at double the speed limit - have been caught speeding during a crackdown by motorway officers.'

I always pay the M6 toll but I’m unsure exactly what I gain from it. Do you save time? Less miles? Or is it just a more pleasant drive. Won’t be busy on Sunday so if there’s no traffic jams should I avoid it and save £14?
