Who’s booked a table at a pub already ?

..... quite a few of the lads I know are giving it a miss but I’m looking forward to a couple in a pub again. Just hope all enjoy and there’s no COVID issues as a result.

Thankfully the other half and I have a seat at The Thatched .... I know some are heading to The wonderful No.10 👍

I also hear The No.3 has a big marquee on the car park .... good luck with that -like herding cats come tea time I imagine 🤔

The Manager of my local emailed to see if we wanted to book a table which we did for Sunday but have since cancelled it. We didn't fancy sitting inside and don't think it will be warm enough for the beer garden

Local isn't opening for at least another few weeks which is probably a wise move to see how things pan out.

i have just seen the 4th described on the BBC as 'Super Saturday' ! i will return to one of the local beer gardens after the initial rush dies down

I heard the Vic in St. Annes have been calling regulars and offering to book them a table on re-opening on Saturday.......
You know you spend too long in a pub when your local pub has your mobile number
And they know that having a few pints is more important than catching Covid-19........😳

Not a chance. It’ll be like a night out with New Years Eve amateurs everywhere.
Probably enjoy a Sunday beer instead without the dickheads 😀
That made me Laugh out loud. I used to occasionally drink in Hoylake with a pub devotee who wouldn't go in a pub from about a week before Christmas until January 2nd because he didn't like 'Part Time Amateurs' 😂😂😂

Hope it's a success, people need to be spending money in pubs or there will be far fewer to choose from.

Same with football, we need to get back, clubs need a start date, and be able to start selling tickets.

Lets hope our stats dont go up,I certainly wont be going to any pub. Might have a drink at the golf club, outside when weather nice.

Hope it goes well for the owners so they start making money again but I won’t be going.

Going to the pub is a sociable thing. Sitting at either an emergency table in a car park or an isolated indoor table surrounded by plastic sheets unable to talk to people outside your group isn’t my cup of tea (or pint of lager) 🍺

Yes, we're booked for Saturday and Sunday in our local. He has a massive beautifully landscaped garden and you can only sit outside. Everyone's had to pre-book the first round, and these will be on our table waiting for us when we get there - this is to stop everyone going to the bar at once!

Judging by the weather forecast we might need to take an umbrella 😢☔

We are booked in our usual eating place on Saturday...early afternoon. They have very few bookings in the day but a few more at night. No walk ins either. Not going to the usual haunts afterwards though. The Mitre, for example, have posted on their fb account that their capacity is 52. No social distancing there then. ☺

An Insolvency Practitioner said TGC can expect a lot of administrations and bankruptcies in the hospitality sector - small owner managed cafes and restaurants first then a few pubs. Difficult times ahead fellow Seasiders ☹️

Don't understand how the booking will work? How do they know how long you'll be there? We're giving it a miss for now. As for "Super Saturday ", that's been dreamt up by the media to cause trouble in my opinion.

I'm going to give it a miss this weekend, quite a few of the pubs around here ( Whitby) are staying closed until the middle of next week rather than plunging in with a full on weekend. I'll give it a few weeks for the new normal to bed in, I've a few in the fridge to drink up first 😀

Great idea come in to our rat hole and keep us in business by drinking our over priced gnats piss whilst risking your life

Just get a few cans and drink at home. Cheaper and less chance of getting covid. Win win

At ours, you book 2-hour slots. We have 2.15-4.15 both days, then he has 15 minutes to clean the tables and chairs, and the next shift is 4.30-6.30 and so on.

Is the Thatched reopening tomorrow? Haven't seen anything online.

Absolutely not from me. Who want to all sit round a table drinking like your having a meal? You stand up drinking whilst chatting, thats the whole point for me.

It really is still out there, no matter what Dom and Dumber say. Just take care and keep safe. People don't really need the pubs opening to go crazy as we have seen on the beaches. There are now over 16,000 cases of serious coronavirus in the North West.

Me for tomorrow, in fairness it's only an hour before going for my birthday meal. Newbury is pretty quiet at the best of times so will decide when we get there if it's worth popping in for a couple.

News from the alcoholic frontline is ok so far - we have our people in the No.10, No.4, No.3, The Saddle and in Deep South - enjoy and stay safe lads 👍🧡

Until it returns to normal with live music I don't see much point in sitting in isolated groups of allowed bubbles or whatever, shouting to people you know at distance, are you allowed to shout? Got some supplies in at home.
