Who was at this one?

Yep.

I don't remember much about the game. Think we'd beaten the Hillbillies in Rd3, then lost to Bournemouth 5th round? All at home too, how times change.

I was there in West paddock cracking goal from Gordon Owen I think that was the only positive he had with us. Like this seasons BSM trophy the draw was kind to us all the way.

Don't remember much about the Torquay game but remember going to the qpr replay and being gutted that we lost the coin toss and the second replay was back in London
Seem to remember going in a pub called the springbok close to the ground...

Was there. My dad took me for my birthday and moaned the whole time about the state of the ground. Stood in the South IIRC

My dad was a Leicester fan and told me how the ground was the same in the 1950's. Only game I went to with him

Yes I certainly would have been there but I don't remember anything about it. I do remember the QPR game, which was my first ever visit to the scratching sheds.

Yep. Then QPR next at home 2 2 - when They were laughing at our facilities before the game. Went to first replay on Supporters coach ( some bright spark brought the Barnsley home league cup video from that seaso!! The whole game then extra time !! 0 0 - we won on pens🧡). Whilst at ground toss gave then home at advantage for next replay ( lost 3 0)

I was there but couldn’t tell you anything about the game 😂
Went to both
Set off for the 2nd replay at QPR and had only got about 15 miles down the M6 and hit total gridlock.
In the end I never got there.
Look at the crowds though. Oldham 11+k. Rochdale 9+ k I’ll bet neither side have seen crowds like that in years.
The lad who scored for Rochdale, Steve O’Shaughnessy, did he play for us at all? Name seems to ring a bell.

I was probably there.
From recollection Oyston put ticket prices up for the QPR match in the next round 🤬

Ah ok, I have the wrong year then. When am I thinking of?

If that was the qpr year, then that first replay was one of the most incredible games I've been to. 0-0, if we'd lost it 15-0 then even the most diehard half full glass Pool fan couldn't have complained. Several disallowed, clean through one on ones missed, hit woodwork several times. Then in extra time we could have won it, from a corner headed out to Neil Matthews on the edge of the box, clear line of sight to volley on target and sent it off to join Coughlins penalty in orbit instead.

And our coach got to moon sir Richard Attenborough at shepherds Bush on the way in.
..

Paul Groves scored on debut as I remember. We could do with him at the moment. Went to all three as I was living in London at the time.
I went to the home game and first replay, but this was back in the day when the second replay was a couple of days later, from memory.

David Seaman was in nets for them.

The Torquay game stands out for me in that it was the only time I have watched one of our home games from the away end.

I'd just moved to London, and travelled up for the game not knowing there were no ticket sales on the day. So I paid to stand on the away half of the Kop.

The QPR series of games were epic. When did we ever get five consecutive home draws in one year like that, by the way?

All ticket for

All ticket for a home cup tie against Torquay? Wow.
Did u cheer from the away end when we scored?

Was in the Scratching Shed for the Torquay game, and was in n the South Paddock against QPR, going mental when Andy Garner scored at that end, equaliser I think.

This is the only game I have seen Pool play in the 5th round of the FA Cup since watching us.

I remember Jimmy Greaves on Saint and Greavesy joking it was going to be the tie of the round.

I was there. Wrote a diary that year. We had signed Paul Groves and Carl Richards on the Monday before. Probably cold at the game as it snowed later that night. We beat Mansfield 3-1 at home the following week with Richards scoring on his debut. Had a lot of attendances below 3000 that season. The final home league attendance was below 2000.

Missed this but as others have stated went to the 0-0 thriller in the next round. Stayed overnight and met my mates dad and another lad from my village by chance at euston . Cadged a lift from Leeds railway station back to the village with my mates dad which was a result.
