Who would take OLLIE as a number 2?

Well is was nothing but a thought, jezz take a chill pill ffs. Yes I doubt it would happen. But the story would be massive.

Ollie is an absolute legend in my eyes, but he's not a number two and that time has gone. He was the right man at that time and the negative comments about him really piss me off tbh. What kind of people take all the pleasure he gave us and revel in it and then turn against him for pretty trivial reasons?

Bang on pal.

Regardless of any downside to him, the upsides so far outweigh them, they don't register with me. A brilliant time to be a Blackpool fan, with pride in the way the team played.

It's taken until this season for me to have that same feeling but this time knowing the club as a full entity is moving in totally the right way. Happy days.

Wouldn't want him as assistant though.

He did all that working in an Oyston regime. It was a miracle really. I would contribute towards a statue, personally! Except I don't believe in statues. Weird me out a bit! 🤣

If Sadler had been the owner we could have really capitalised on that. Invested in the infrastructure and built something. Here we are ten years later, just starting again, with no real legacy to speak of.

Bang on. Ollie is a true legend. In his appearance on Quest EFL covering the play-off final against Lincoln he made a number of very positive and complimentary comments about BFC particularly about Neil Critchley and the fans.

First thougts are ‘not for me’, but maybe it cpuld work. He seems to have lost his mojo as a no 1, so maybe as a motivator PR guy?

No. Maybe eventually we'll forgive him his Koko fixation (or at least put it to one side for an afternoon) and give him a polite clap on the pitch at halftime though.

We? Nothing to forgive in my book, he conducted himself exactly as every other manager in regards the Oystons (except Riga), maybe we should all hold it against Billy as well, he never criticised the Oystons either, or Thommo, not a bad word about them, how about the players? Charlie kept his mouth shut on the issue, Brett signed for them twice, let's demonise everyone in the past 30+ years unless they specifically criticised the Oystons.

We shouldn't stop there either, how about anyone who gave them money? I did, you did, everyone on here did, our moral high ground is built on very shaky foundations, it's not as if their business dealings were a secret so unless anyone refused to enter Bloomfield or buy anything BFC related or boycotted every play off since 1987 we should probably just shut the f**k up about other people's actions.

That's not true at all, Billy did criticise the Oystons. Even coming over to the fans after an away defeat, explaining how the Oystons wouldn't give him a penny to strengthen.

But carried on working for them? By the moral law of AVFTT that's a hangable offence isn't it?

Everyone came to the Oyston Out party very very late in the day, we have nothing much to be proud of really.

Our most successful manager. I would keep him in a cupboard and wheel him out for inspirational team talks when needed. Let's not forget that he led us to the promised land and made us proud.

Regardless of all our opinions on him as assistant manager, I don't believe that he would consider that sort of role, at any club.

Feel free to blow a gasket Lytham but I think you're missing the point. Holloway to my knowledge stands alone in making supportive comments afterwards about the "best chairman I ever had". Now that stuck in the craw then and it still does a bit now. I appreciate he was just being his contrary self but the fact remains, he could have kept his mouth shut but chose to not do so. For someone who receives more media exposure than just about any ex Pool figure of that era I think it's been a poor show from him. One thing I will say, he nearly managed something more placatory when interviewed on the pitch for Quest following our recent play off win. Hence my comments. If you don't like them that's up to you Sir.

He gets far more grief than anyone else for it, that's all, it's used as a stick to beat him with as some of our support have had an axe to grind from way before his comments.

It's probably because he has more exposure than other previous managers.

No never, we don’t need a media whore at the club, and I’m sure Sir Neal will have someone in mind , perhaps another up and coming specialist defensive coach, you never know ! He might even believe in his own ability enough after all he will have learned from CC.

I'd take Stan as number 2. Used to working as part of a partnership, a Lancashire lad and a very modest genius of a man

Err Claughton Hall in the 1990s, pitch protests, the Oyston Out car etc..... I would respectfully state that you are wrong to say "everyone."

99%

And how many at the 90s protests continued to hand over their money until the boycott? I did, because I'm a hypocrite, but at least I know I am.
Not a hypocrite, just a football fan. The Os behaviour only became completely reprehensible for the majority when they started attacking fellow fans.

I struggle to see why people are so bitter towards Holloway, he brought a renewed energy and attitude to what was a 'little minded' club at the time, plus the best football I have ever and may ever witness our club play in my lifetime.
There are plenty of other people I'd line up before him that were connected to the club at that time. As people have rightly said, the majority of us were hypocrites and enjoying the ride until the O's finally became apparent for what they are.

I do think he looks tired these days and think his best managerial achievements were with us, but also that the experience of what he achieved and how it was treated by the O's has left its mark on him too, he hasn't the same sparkle anymore.
